wow- I am kind of suprised that Tommy Tunes is that expensive. My FH are looking into DJs cause we prefer them, but we weren't expecting to pay that much

What I mean to say is that people will find a band much more impressive than a mere DJ.
That's sort of a leap of faith, no?! Personally, and i do not mean to offend anyone, but at any amount of money, i have Never heard a wedding band that i thought was any good. Frankly, unless I could get like Earth, Wind and Fire to play at my wedding, I wouldn't be interested in a band - so I think it's really all about taste - and everyone's taste is different.

I preferred to have a DJ over a band, too. Cost wasn't the reason.
Not all DJ's are that expensive. My DJ is Vinny from High Voltage. I met with several and he was my FIRST choice. And what's nicer, his prices are reasonable.
Just because you pay more for something it doesn't mean it's better.

Maybe some people. I personally don't feel the need to impress anyone.

We're using a DJ because we like so many different kinds of music (country, classic rock, R&B..) and could never get a band who could do all of those genres perfectly. I haven't done too much research into particular DJ's yet, but I have heard the same..Tommy's Tunes are good, but expensive.

we are using a band because we wanted live music and if you get a great band they can do almost anything- HOWEVER If I were using a DJ it would have been Long Island Sound- They are awesome! I am not sure how much they are, but I couldnt imagine them being cheap...they have all the extras that can be added- singers/musicians/etc..Remember, it is all about taste- check out Djs and check out bands and see which you like better!

I'm a Sunday in March, but I've been getting quotes for bands between $5,200 and $8,000. Do you mind me asking which band you picked?
No, not at all... I love them and i am actually going to see them today... they're an Irish American band so they do a lot of gigs in pubs, etc. However, they play EVERYTHING as well as the Irish traditional music, which is a must have for me...
the band is Good Clean Fun...their website is www.goodcleanfunband.com
