Hmm..let me guess...she is not engaged...JEALOUS!
Your ring is beautiful and unique. You love it, that's what matters. it could be 12 carats and your frined would never compliment it because she's jealous.

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
I don't even understand why you would be upset or need reassurance. You must know your ring is clearly beautiful. Don't feed off of negativity. Some girls just don't get it!!

Your friend is jealous. Your ring is gorgeous...in fact my best friend is keeping her fingers crossed that in the very near future she'll have one similar to it!!! Some people just don't know how to be happy for others. Trust us...it's gorgeous!

Your ring is beautiful. What is her problem. Who cares what she thinks, you picked it out, you loveit, and you wear it well!

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
I've seen your ring in person, and the pic does not do it justice!! Not only is it beautiful, but the pave stones make it original and elegant.Jealousy is an ugly thing. My (married) sister hasn't complimented me on mine either. She did make some small remark that IMHO smacked of jealousy between her ring and mine. She got exactly what she asked for, as did I, I can't help it if the setting on mine makes my stone look double the size of hers (and it's not it's only .3 carats bigger).

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
Screw her! I LOVE your ring. But then again I'm biased,I have the same one only princess.See,we have the same taste & looks like the same friend. I got tons of snide remarks, rude comments and this person was my MOH. She's jealous, she can't give you a compliment-she's too GREEN WITH ENVY!

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
As you may recall from the GTG, I have a VERY similar setting!!!!Your friend is a jealous beotch!!! She'll be eating her words when she gets a lump of coal for an e-ring!
A friend of mine, who got a plain, yellow gold solitaire with a smaller center stone than mine told me that her center stone must be of better quality, because she didn't need 'all the bell and whistles' on her ring to make it look good. So, I told her that with a stone of this quality, you don't just throw it into the free setting that a jeweler gives you. Tell me she didn't deserve that!! (Why compare at all??)
SO listen, I was in the city, shopping and I went into Cartier to see all the museum quality rings. They have a section that has the world's rarest, biggest diamonds, all in the best settings money can buy. This little area is protected by 3 armed guards. And it didn't cost me a dime to check them out! I saw a 7 carat flawless stone in a setting just like mine (and yours). It would have looked too huge on someone's finger, but it was so amazing as a work of art in the display case!!!!!!
And--What was the first thing I posted about after the GTG--it was how amazing all the diamonds were. And I was sitting across from you.
Your ring is GREAT. The only thing you may want to confront your jeweler on is that you should not be losing stones. Pave is great and does not necessarily HAVE to be sensitive.

Then I told her that i COULD change the setting and maybe get a solitaire setting and bigger stone bc the pave setting i have is so sensitive and I will worry about it forever and when i told her that, she made a face like 'do it'. My center stone is really not big bc the setting is not meant for a big stone. I know she has always thought 'her ring is so small' and it annoys me. I picked it out and i love it but it bothers me SO MUCH!!!!
Thoughts??????????????????
WHAT??? Why would you change not only your setting, but stone just b/c she hasn't complimented you? Your ring is gorgeous and you know it! Don't let her rain on your parade. The girls are right - she is jealous and has been since you and Matt got engaged. I think it is terrible of her to be so insensitve and materialistic. Use the upcoming break from work as a break from her. Surround yourself with those who care and aren't so judgemental until she grows up a bit. Sorry for the rant...I'm a little closer to the subject (& you) than most of these gals.
Take it with a grain a salt - we all don't have the same opinion. If she 'hates' your ering - so be it. My guess is that she hates the ering for what it represents and not b/c of what it looks like.

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
I think your ring is so stunning. The 'Green eyed monster' has corrupted your friend and I think that you just need to try your best to ignore her and just know that the ring is a symbol of the love your FH has for you. I watched my cousin be brought down to almost tears because her maid of honor was so jealouse she tormented her. She was supposed to be her bestfriend and she was supposed to help my cousin at the wedding but she was so jealouse that she ignored what needed to be done and sat with a puss on her face during the reception. You can't let people like that get to you we all need to remember that this is our time to shine and be happy and we can't let those around us bring us down.

I think your ring is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! In my opinion, bigger doesn't always mean better. I wouldn't change a thing. As hard as it may be, just try to ignore her. DOn't let it get to you.....it's so not worth it....

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
Your ring is stunning, and more importantly, it is from your FH. All that matters is that you love it and whenever you look at it, you think of the love that the two of you share. It doesn't matter how big or small, it's what it symbolizes that matters! Don't give your jealous friend a second thought!

Re: My friend is making me feel bad
She may not be jealous-she may just be ana-******-many people are. The happiness of others pisses them off and they try to undo it little snarky comment by little snarky comment. She's an a-******. Love your ring-your friend, not so much...
