Re: Need Help with Honeymoon: Cabo San Lucas...
I have a few 'requests' - based on those, can anyone recm'd anything?1) Is there gambling at all in Cabo?
2) Which area is best to stay in if we want a nightlife and want to eat out for dinner
3) FI doesn't swim so water activities are limited - looking to tour the city, do some shopping, play some golf, and just relax - maybe horseback riding???

I don't know about gambling
I would stay with in a 5 or 10 minute cab ride of the town- Riu is a 10 min cab
there is horseback riding, ATV riding- fishing
shopping and golf- and relaxation of course!

Re: Need Help with Honeymoon: Cabo San Lucas...
Not sure about gambling. The nightlife is great in downtown cabo. As Beth recommended, within a 5-10 min cab ride is best. Our resort is a 5 minute walk from downtown. There is also a Nikki beach club on the resort.
there are plenty of activities including horseback riding, ATV's, and shopping near down town cabo. Good luck.

Okay, we've narrowed it down to three resorts:(in no specific order)
1) Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas All Inclusive
2) Casa Del Mar Beach Golf & Spa Resort
3) Dreams Los Cabos Suites Golf Resort & Spa All Inclusive

Funny, it is one of three places we are considering...actually Los Cabos, which is in between Cabo and something else...we are considering the Palmilla Resort, Las Ventanas and check out the Westin...
pretty cheap and it looks great....

we are staying at the Meila San Lucas. It is close to town. we did not want to do all inclusive b/c the restraunts are to die for in Cabo. I did some research and this place appealed to us b/c of the location. We wanted location to the nightlife and this place was for us. FM me for details. We booked with Dawn from cruiseone and she was amazing!!!!
I know! we have a whole list of resturants- the deal we got was so good- we plan on dining in cabo every night- to me the all inclusive is nice for breakfast and lunch and drinks
but when I go some where I like to check out everything- I can't stay at the hotel the whole time
I can't wait to go out in cabo!
Does the RIU have a beach you can go in the water???

Re: Need Help with Honeymoon: Cabo San Lucas...
Hi...I've been to Cabo several times. My friend had her destination wedding there and it was amazing! The higher end resorts which would be nicest for a honeymoon are Las Ventanas and One and Only Palmilla - I've been to both for dinner and both were fabulous.
I am not sure I'd recommend the RIU for a honeymoon - it is NOT adults only and you will find a lot of kids there. Also it is one of the hugest resorts I've ever seen....it's too big of a place for a honeymoon in my opinion.
I heard the Esperanza is really beautiful - I think this is also higher end.
If LV or Palmilla are too expensive - take a look at the Hilton Los Cabos Resort and Spa. I stayed there for vacation this past May and the service was wonderful - they called us by names and never forgot who we were. The pools are beautiful - they have one of the only swimmable beaches in Cabo (currents are too strong elsewhere and you will find the red flags are up almost every day meaning you can't swim in the ocean). If you don't want to rent a car you are in between the town of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo so it is easy to take a cab to either for dinner and nightlife or the Hilton has a free shuttle you can take to both towns which is great. Actually I think it wasn't free but maybe $10 a day...I can't remember. If you want to send me your email address - just forum mail me and I can send you my photo album from the Hilton Los Cabos. It was the first time I ever stayed at a Hilton and I was blown away by the service...it was really amazing and I can't wait to go back someday. I'll try to attach a picture of the amazing pool there so you can see!

Keri - thank you so much for your honesty and thorough review!I'm currently looking into other places, as it has been confirmed by a Travel Agent, that the three Cabo resorts I listed above are 'family' resorts.
ewww...don't need a two year old screaming in the pool while I'm trying to work on my tan!

Re: Need Help with Honeymoon: Cabo San Lucas...
Yes I agree. I love kids but don't need too many around on my honeymoon. I have stayed at RIU's before and they are great...but the one in Cabo I just think is too big with too many kids for a honeymoon.Cabo is still a gorgeous place - you can still go there. Look at the Hilton, Sheraton (stayed there for my friend's wedding) or the Westin - all are gorgeous and smaller than the RIU...you will not find as many kids there.
Good Luck to you!

There were 3 kids at Dreams the week we were there - all from the same family. I think it depends when you go and if it's around school break. To be honest, it was mostly honeymooners and couples having destination weddings! If you want couples only I think One and Only Palmilla is it.

Cabo is great, but we stayed at the Melia, which I wouldn't go back to. THere weren't a bunch of kids, but the dining options were limited and the spa was only so-so. The pool is fabulous and beautiful, but the rooms were rather standard as well.Welcome New Vendors
