Re: Need Your Honest Opinion-Gun at a wedding

Is he mental?! Seriously. I know plenty of cops and have NEVER seen their guns.

I agree with everyone else. Safety first.

OMG i cant believe that he is that crazy. I'm also a police officer and ill tell ya one thing i sure as hell am not going to have my gun strapped onto my garter belt the day of my wedding! All i have to say as a cop is that it is very irresponsible of him to have his gun present at an event where there will be alcohol, he should know better to leave it at home, locked and in a safe place. Its YOUR wedding, remember that, and if your friend is a TRUE friend she'll understand and respect your requests as to not having her bf bring his gun, its one night w/o his lil gun i'm sure he'll be fine. Honestly unless your having your own security at the door which I dont think you are but what police action is he really gonna take at your beautiful wedding. Speak your mind and stick to YOUR guns...good luck and i wish you the best!!!

VERY well said, my FH is a cop also and he would never bring his gun to a wedding or wear it when going out and drinking alcohol. He barely ever wears it off-duty - it's for protection, not showing off. I would absolutely put my foot down too.

Re: Need Your Honest Opinion-Gun at a wedding

I agree with every other post on here. No gun, or no invite. Can you imagine if a little kid walked by the table

Stand your ground!!!

Please keep us posted. I am sure your discussion will be post worthy.

Tell him the reception hall has a no gun policy. They probably do!

I don't think saying that to him will work - he is a police officer so he would be able to argue that one.

I would tell your friend the truth. I would not allow him at the wedding with a gun and if she has a problem with it, then she doesn't really support you as a friend.

I would simply tell her the truth. The two of them are invited but the gun isn't. If she drops out, then she isn't a good enough friend to care about your feelings and you are better off without her.

I agree....and her DH has some real issues. It is NOT necessary to walk around with a gun, especially when you are off duty.

He sounds like a dirty cop to me. Bragging about beating up people, that's not professional at all.

To be honest I wouldn't even be friends with these people. Putiing a gun on the dinner table is not acceptable social behavior. He has a few screws loose.

Re: Need Your Honest Opinion-Gun at a wedding

that is what many call a 'buff'...and they can be the kind of guy that gets people in trouble.

he could be suspended or lose his job for going out drinking with his service weapon on.

let your friend know that you will NOT want him there with a gun at your wedding.

i'm marrying a cop....know cops...and will have cops at my wedding. you bet your sweet azz that NONE OF THEM will be allowed to bring their weapon!!!!!!
