My FH said he definitely can't go, he's saving his vacation days for the holidays which I totally do not mind. Hopefully I can take the time off from work and get my mom and sisters to go. I'm excited for this!

Re: New fox hollow thread
So, I went to visit FH this weekend, went to pick out menu, linens, and cake.I wanted to do ivory table cloths with navy blue napkins. Was dissapointed with the navy blue linens, not very pretty. Not sure if I should rent, or buy them.
Cake and menu, were fine. We choose red velvet, did someone say that their RV cakes weren't that great?
My biggest thing though, were the chairs, sigh. I am in the WGP and i'm not too thrilled about the chairs. They look kind of riggidity. I can't believe I didn't notice this before! I hate chair covers. Do you think they would be willing to let me switch chairs from another room if they are available?
Otherwise, things are going, can't believe I have two months to go!

Re: New fox hollow thread
I am one frustrated bride to be right about now. FH tells me two months before the wedding that we are going to have to postpone until next year. I got laid off in July, but figured we could still proceed because the majority of items were already paid for. Then he lost his job and here we are. I am so pissed after all the hard work I've put into the planning of this wedding, it's unbelievable. Now I have to scramble and reschedule everything and hope that a date is available for the Garden Terrace room in May or October. He says we can't pick a date until he has a new job. Not, it's no way in hell we're going to lose all the money put down towards the RH - he is out of his mind. I just want to get married already. I have a wall full of wedding stuff sitting in my living room and to have to wait another 6-10 months is really pissing me off. It wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't already sent out invitations. The wait continues. Thanks for letting me vent. Sigh.

So sorry to hear this. I hope you guys both find jobs soon and can work something out so you don't have to postpone the wedding. Maybe try doing temp work until you find something permanent so that you can continue saving?

I'm so sorry to hear that too. Maybe you can try for a holiday weekend next year - rates might be cheaper? Anyway you can cut back on stuff (downgrade

Thanks ladies for the support. It's not a matter of cutting back. It's just to pay the remaining balance for the RH which isn't too bad, but we are paying for everything ourselves (considering we're both in our 40's), except for the flowers. My mom graciously agreed to pay for them. I only put down the deposit. Since he's a photographer also on the side, he has a lot of contacts with videographers/photographers and DJs. So those costs would have been at an extreme discount or free. So literally we have only the RH, tips and hotel costs remaining.
When I say I have planned everything - I mean it. Everything is done. Favors, decor, program mock up, etc. The only thing I didn't do was get the items for the OOT guests, but I do have the bags. So much for best laid plans. With any luck we'll both have new jobs before the end of the year.

Re: New fox hollow thread
hi allDoes anyone know the arrangements and flow for the transition between the cocktail hour to the Somerley room?
I feel like the DJ will be setting up in the Somereley while coctail hour is going on. If I recall, the space where the DJ will be is also being used for cocktail hour.
I want the reception room to feel almost like a grand opening and not exposed until the reception begins.
Do you think a party of 150 will fit in the cocktail room without using the Somerley space or the Somerley has to be opened during cocktail hour? Im just worried about the transition and the setting up/breaking down.

Hi! I am looking into the Somerely for my venue - it's between there & Westbury Manor as of right now. I am worried about the same thing!!!! LOL I personally think both rooms need to be used... I just think the one room will be way too tight.
A wall goes up - there are many pictures of the room online, but there is one floating around with the wall set up. It doesn't look bad at all - it's kind of decorative.
They are setting up for a wedding this weekend if you want to take a look at it set up!

I've posted this before:
I'm having my ceremony and reception in the somerley and cocktail hr in the lantin gallery next door.
After ceremony is over, there is a movable wall that closes up the somerely space except for the dance floor. Once the wall is up they break down the ceremony and bring the tables in to turn it into reception.
Cocktail hour is right next door in the lantin gallery and if you have a large party it can spill into the dance floor part of the somerley. Because the wall is up, you do not see the staff behind them setting up the tables. Plus your DJ/Band is in the uncovered space where your cocktail hour is spilled over and you won't hear them either.
Once cocktail hour is over, they remove the wall and all the guests are ushered to their seats for the bridal introductions.
Please note: If you are having a DJ he should already be set up in his space before the ceremony even starts, thats what we are doing especially since he is being used for ceremony, cocktail and reception music.
There will be no tables in the area that is part of the Somerely for our cocktail hour. So you may request that if your worried about tables being broken down in that area once reception starts.

Ohok thank u...but if u have a larger party then don't u need tables on the dance floor side? And where do they get the tables from to set up the reception?

Re: New fox hollow thread
As far as tables being out on the dance floor. You can ask for the high ball tables out there. They are easier and quicker to get rid of then the low tables. Also for the entrance to the reception, i believe those windows are actually doors too. I know one is the entrance to the balcony. So i would assume they bring the tables from there but i can be wrong. Also, i believe that by the time your wedding comes around there will be another change to that room. When i first went i know they said they were gonna change the entrance to that room. So it may be different for you. Since my wedding is small, i'm not worried about it but I would go to the wedding Friday if your still worried and need a visual.

Re: New fox hollow thread
Hey ladies - I was at Fox Hollow last night for the Bridal showcase and I saw the TVs and lighting and spoke with body rockSo because I am having a band they told me the cost for the lighting package was $1,200 (which is absurd) and the TV's would be $1,000
With lighting you get to customize what you want and when - they were really cool and it deff takes the room to the next level just SUCKS that its sooooooo expensive and I'm going to do everything and anything to cut them down on the price so if you were quoted something else PLEASE let me know.
As far as the TVs there are 4 of them and they do stick out like sore thumbs haha but not terrible BUT for 1k you get a 50 pic montage and someone taking zap shots that not - I was going to make my own montage and was not interested in zap shots and kinda just want our monogram up there and he didn't have a cost for me...

Hey girls, here is some info I got recently. If you want to do lighting or use the tvs, you have to strictly go with Body Rock for that. Even if you use another DJ company, you still need to hire Body Rock if you want the lighting/uplighting or use of the tvs. I guess they own the equipment and won't allow other companies to use it.
Which room is this for? or all?
