hi! congrats and welcome! i definitely recommend checking out atlantis marine world aquarium in riverhead! its unique and fun and they do weddings quite nicely. if you have any questions about atlantis, send them my way! i'd do anything to get a hall-twin! ~lacey

I looked at the vineyard caterers out east.. .they are very nice, but still have that laid back element. The cocktail hour area looks out on the vineyard and has wood floors...kind of like a barn feel. They even have a grill out there!

Hey, congratulations!
I would recommend looking up the review for Maple_tea. She had her wedding at a restored barn owned by the Smithtown Historical Society and it was very low-key, but looked beautiful, creative and fun. There was a bit of work coordinating caterer, rentals, but since you can use anyone you probably can get the price you are looking for.

Some people have also mentioned the Pavilion at Sunken Meadow State Park. You can do a search for that.

Also, I'd suggest checking out indiebride.com. There's a board where you can get great suggestions on wedding dress alternatives, non-traditional things, etc.

Welcome!

You may want to consider having a cocktail reception too. This way it creates a different atmosphere all in itself. Usually it doesn't save on cost, but you could ask!

My friend Kim who is on this message board sent me a link of that girls wedding. I LOVED everything i saw. I just worry about the price seeing as you have to rent everything. I could be wrong though. I also worry because I am not in Long Island and will have to plan this wedding over the phone and on select weekends I'm in town. Oh I'm just being silly. I am going to check out the Pavillion online.
