I tried.. the alot... or I also tried it is more than we wanted to spend.. but they still ask.. at that point I feel stupid not telling them like I want to hide it and tell them..

I hate it though....

'Diana, how much are you paying per person?'

'Why? Do you want to know who to make the check payable to?'

Works everytime.

im like you ....i feel like its hard to not say....FH's family is so open about money ....it makes me sick

its sick to say but some people want to know how much you are paying so they know how much they should give you. Technically a wedding gift from a person should at least cover their plate.

I'm with Steph on this one.

Yes its rude and I get an uncomfortable feeling when people ask. However, most of those that asked are usually the family, and I saw it with the last wedding of the family. They kind of spread word of mouth so people know the least $$ they should give.(Given, there are just those jacka

es that just want to know to be tacky,but in our family, its just so they know how much to save or what have you)

So another way to go about it, if you think this is what they are after, highball your per person!! Seriously.....make it a profitable affair!!
