I am deathly allergic to cats. I applaud your man for trying to make it work. But I couldn't even imagine. As for the 6 month thing, I swear its longer that the allergens hang around. My friend moved into an apartment and I went to visit him. Within about 30 minutes, I stopped breathing and had to be rushed out of there.

Within a few days I told him that I have only reacted to cats that way. He spoke with his landlord and found out that the last tenant moved out a year prior to him moving in and did have a cat. Maybe that landlord didn't clean well, but still.
