oh i don't really think that the term 'disgusting' is offensive unless you are saying it specifically about two people unfairly...
when i agreed with what the other bride wrote (look above) i meant more that the food is disgusting which by all means it is...
there is absolutely no reason why that food needs to be so disgusting. the only reason the people who manufacture that food don't make it better for us is b/c it is cheaper and there is a larger profit margin for them if they make crap.
fast food does not have to be so bad for us but unless we all do something to prompt a change they never will.
and if you look at the majority of people who eat there--they are obese, is that sad? absolutely! but mean? not really b/c it's just a fact. 70% of people that eat there do so 3-4 times a WEEK on average--now that's disgusting.
and that's why obesity has surpassed smoking as the number one preventable cause of death in this country. to make matters worse our health system is in financial trouble-- more and more people have to put more money into their health plans at their job and a lot of that has to do with the fact that most of these people are going to the doctors and getting diseases from the fact that they are obese (ie diabetes, colon cancer, colitis, irritable baul syndrome, gaul stones, etc).
now, by all means--have whatever kind of wedding you want, especially if it saves money. but the food and the place overall itself-- TOTALLY disgusting. i urge all of you who think otherwise to watch the Documentary 'Super-Size Me' and see what kind of an effect McDonald's and the fast food industry in general has had on our society.
1st off I highly doubt that she was referring to the food being disgusting ... thats not what was said. In addition, I also find it hard to believe that the negative reactions had ANYTHING to do with the nutritional content. Lets not blame McDonalds for the obesity epidemic. I did watch Super Size Me and it was very informative but I'm sure if you ate 3 home cooked fattening meals each day you would have similar effects. McDonalds makes the food their way because millions of people all over the world enjoy it hence the reason for its popularity. Perhaps you meant it was disgusting but the other person did not specify which is why I responded and asked her to elaborate on what she thought was disgusting. Im not an advocate of McDonalds but they are not forcing anyone to eat there, nor are they suggesting to eat there 3 times a day. Plus Im sure the food were serving at our reception is not all from Trader Joes.

Can we get over the McWedding already? It doesn't matter - they did what they did to make themselves happy and if people applaud it or don't like it, so be it.

Re: NWR: Did anyone read this today...
After posting this thread, and reading some of the comments I think it's time to give it up already. While everyone is intitled to have their own opinion I didn't post this to make fun of them, nor make eveyone follow their methods, or fall inlove w/ Mc Donalds.I just though it was very odd, and different, but at the same time 'THEIR' choice.. So before the DRAMA start over it being 'disgusting', or 'great' Let's just leave it be. They were married w/ their choice of how it was going to be done, and they may or may not live happy lives

The thread is about a couple and their wedding; nothing else. And I say it because it looks like people are going to start attacking each other over nothing.

Re: NWR: Did anyone read this today...
Dont get me wrong I completely understand. All I asked was 'what was disgusting?' because I was honestly surprised. I am not attacking anyone nor have I EVER attacked anyone on this site. I honestly didnt see this taking a bad turn at all - I just thought it was a few people disagreeing and sharing their point of view. I am not starting and have not fought with anyone on this site - I wont start now.

I don't know. I understand if you can't afford to have a 'LI wedding'. I would never resort to having it at McDonald's. I would rather get married at city hall and have a nice dinner with my family than treat 50 people to McDonald's. JMHO

Re: NWR: Did anyone read this today...
If McDonald's was what this couple wanted, who are we to judge? Just because they decided not to do the full-out wedding, so what? Maybe they didn't want to get all dressed up, or have it in a fancy restaurant. That doesn't make them 'trashish.'Some people don't get all wrapped up in the big wedding. I definitely didn't. That doesn't make my wedding any better or any less than anyone else's. It is what my husband and I wanted.
I see a lot of ladies saying, 'it is your day, do it your way.' That is what this couple did. If it is not the way you would have done your wedding, fine. But then don't go and criticize someone for doing it the way THEY wanted.
A wedding is one day. A marriage is a lifetime. Best of luck to them.

Re: NWR: Did anyone read this today...
I guess I'm the only one who didn't view any of the above as arguments - people disagreed but in a tactful way. Like I said before, I have yet to attack anyone on this thread and refuse to do so but I am sure as heck going to discuss my feelings when I see fit. That’s what we all do. I do not have anything against anyone on this board at all. I respect the many ladies on here who can have a mature intelligent conversation on here without causing a B*tch fight

Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, I dont think there was an argument on this thread either. If everyone agreed all the time, than I dont think these boards would be that much fun. (JMO)
