Re: NWR: How long is your commute?
Ok I have to type my reply again because I got a 'server down' message
I hate it when that happens....My commute is 20 min. from my apt. in Forest Hills to work in LIC. For FH it's 30-40 min. from my apt. to his job in Baldwin.
When we commute from Farmingville it's 1.5 hours for me..and 45 min for him..but that's because he takes Ocean Parkway and not the LIE or Southern State it would be longer if he took either of those roads.

I lucked out with my latest job, I work 5 minutes from home. It's crazy. The bad part is I don't have a 'second 'hood' - like our lunch places are our dinner places. It's great though for dental and doctor appointments though! I also go home for lunch most days
Same here! I used to work in Carle Place (live in Huntington) - and that was about 30-40 mins each way. Now I work and live in Huntington. 5 min drive, I go home almost every day for lunch.
I don't really like my job - it's boring - but I am sticking it out until the end of the year, then looking for a work-from-home editing job.

I take the LIRR from auburndale and then the subway so it's about 40 minutes. [/QUOTE
I live closer to Auburndale but take the train from Bayside because I heard there is more parking there(not much though!). Is there a lot of street parking at Auburndale?

Re: NWR: How long is your commute?
just over 1.5 from driving to the train station, taking the train to NYC then walking to work. I hate it so so much!!! My old commute in CA was 10 minutes door to door. I leave the house at 6:30 and get home at 6:30

Re: NWR: How long is your commute?
I take the 6:32 train from Babylon every morning and get to work at 7:40, but my office is moving to Wall Street next month, so I will have to tack on another 20+ min. So, right now a little over an hour commute, but soon it will be close to an hour and a half.
I love working in the city though.

Re: NWR: How long is your commute?
I drive. I hate the commute it 's the furthest I worked form home, but lukily I live and work in Suffulk so even though it's the furthest distance that I've worked, it takes me less time then when I lived in Dix Hills and worked in Hicksville, that use to take me an hour coming home cause of the traffic

Re: NWR: How long is your commute?
I live in the city and work in westchester (white plains). Takes me just over an hour everyday ... but i don't mind the commute. I leave at 8am and get home at 8pm. I think if I had the same job in the city my hours out of the house would end up being longer! so it works for me
