I got mine done at Hayato in Manhattan. they charged me 260, but i have the thickest hair and it took me 5 1/2 hours including a hair cut. I just love it. I have so much confidence now. Its also great to finally be able to wear my hair down. Oh and I have to thank this website for all their salon suggestions. hayato is awesome, plus they give you the best back massage too.

How does it look when it grows in? Let's say I don't like it, will my hair go back to being plain curly or will it look 'fried'

I want it but am too scared to do it cause I wonder how my roots will look when it is growing in. I have REALLY curly hair.

I feel the same way!!! Just worried about the re-growth...It's almost like a lifetime commitment, once you do it, you cannot go back.

I want to do this so badly but I have so many questions.

I am worried about my 'roots' too. How does that work? Do you have to get touch-ups?

Also, what about color? Can you dye it afterwards?

Yes! My hair was actually a little drier though. Your's looks like it's pretty shiny and full of moisture.

You can totally get it done!

JS lasts for approximately 6 months...I go about 9/8 months b/c my roots fortunately come in wavy and then towards the bottom get really curly.

You don't get touch-ups...You go every 6 months (at least) so that's twice per year...and go through the process again!

It literally takes me 6 minutes in the morning to do my hair. I get out of the shower, and just blow dry it with my hand...no brush or anything, and it comes out pin straight.

You should either have you hair already colored (at least a few weeks into it) or you can just wait about two/three weeks after you get the JS and then get your hair colored.

My mom got hers done, and then colored it less than a week into it and nothing happened, but I would honestly wait more than she did.

I have PIN straight hair-it wont hold a curl in a curler and I wish I had curly hair

Yep you always want what you dont have. I have hair just like Valentinesgirl, but I am too scared to take the plunge and get straight hair.

I have hair like yours - but drier. When I hot iron it it still gets frizzy. I would hate that look if it were permanent.

your hair will NEVER be FRIZZY!!!! Honest to god!

I don't have pics of my 'before' hair, but I had similar hair to my BM in the picture below, and here's a picture of my hair now:

You should be able to get out of the shower and let it air dry..it should dry pin straight...I was in Japan last year and my friend who was living there had it done and her hair was sooo straihght..the humidity there did not make a difference...I on the other hand was a frizz ball!!
