I'm curious to read it, but after watching Oprah and reading about the controversy, I'm more curious. BUT I don't want to go out now and buy the book because I don't feel he deserves to have my $$ in his pocket.
give me a break...that's what the library is for! Again- regardless of the Oprah hype, it is a fantastic book. He is a great writer. Somehow I dont think the money was his motivation!
I'm just stating MY opinion. This is how I feel about it, no need for the 'tude'. As for the library comment, I'm not going to out of my way to read it either.

Re: NWR: James Frey admits to lying - watch today's Oprah
I think everyone needs to realize that what he just admitted was that he made most of the book up... he didn't experience most of what he wrote about, and in fact made a lot of it up - therefore he's a big liar. The book should have been labeled as fiction - not memoir, or anything resembling truth.I have absolutely no respect for someone who pretends to have gone through hardships and then overcome them. It makes a mockery of anyone who actually has.

Re: NWR: James Frey admits to lying - watch today's Oprah
I am currently half way through the book and I can't put it down. It is a little disappointing to hear that there are parts that are not true.I'm just watching Oprah now from my DVR and I feel so bad for James Frey - Oprah is totally worried about herself and trying to clear her name. I really think she's being a b*#tch!!! I'm sending an email to Oprah now because I really think she's concerned about herself and her name and not the readers in the Oprah book club.

Completely agree!! I sent an email to Oprah the MINUTE I got home and I think that more people that feel the way we do should do the same.
