I took it to quit along time ago... I was always slap happy and just woooo... So I stopped.. Thats what happens when welbutrin is also a anti-deressant

Yea, I know it's an anti depressant. Did it work for you to quit though?

I stopped taking it because I was to loopy....

I stopped for a week before my 21st birthday like a dumbass LOL .. What worked for me was the patch and bitting on bar stirrers.. I still smoke though because on my 21st birthday I got wasted so that was just a dumb move on my end. (Drinking+Smoking= Hand and Hand to me) And I have no drive to stop yet.

Some women at my job use the inhaler and the lozenges and have quit for over 2 months already!!!

I find the best way to quit is cold turkey and replacing smoking with a healthy habit. I smoked for 10 years heavily and I replaced smoking with the gym. The fact that my lungs were healthy and that I could run miles without being out of breath was something I focused on. It's not easy at first but once you quit for so long, it's easy to really stay away from cigs IMO.

I ahve not taken it but I have heard that can happen I would call his doctor right away and let him know he is having these problems. My sister and brother both quit using chantix (sp?) and had little to no side effects

I don't know why his Dr. didn't give him Chantix. He said he preferred Welbutrin over Chantix. I don't know. I'll see how he is for the next week or so.

I've heard some pretty awful things about Chantix as well.
I took Wellbutrin a long time ago. Lost 32 lbs and felt great. It all depends on the person.

Yea, I heard BAD things about Chantix too. FH's sister took it a few months ago and she is REALLY depressed now since she stopped taking it.

I've also read reports of people committing suicide out of nowhere with absolutely no history. Very scary.

this is what my doctor also told me about welbutrin. And i just looked it up and there was this whole thing about welbutrin and suicide.

laser theraphy is starting to sound alot better lol

ETA: here is what it says

Some concerns are growing about Welbutrin side effects due to the fact that they have included cases of suicidal thoughts and attempts in children and adolescents with depression.

So they are just concerned about suicidal thoughts/attempts in adolescents? Or is it anyone who uses it?

that was just a small section of it. But yeah my doctor told me that it caused suicidal thoughts in a percentage of people who took it, and adults too. Thats all he had to say for me to say no way. I was glad he was upfront with me and told me all the side effects.

Thats great!! I tried to do that when I was pregnant but my doctor said it was too harmful for both me and the baby. He said quit if I can if not cut back as much as you can. So I cut back as much as I felt I could (One a day). But right after the baby I went back to normal.. Blahhhh

Some people can handle the cold turkey way and I think thats awesome (And much cheaper).. But I'm not one of those that could do it that way... I want to quit eventually just not now .. Its my stress reliever..LOL

My FH can't do it cold turkey so this was the way for him to quit. I hope it works. You'll quit one day when the time is right!

I was on Chantix and i got SOOOOOOOOO SICK!
All of those side effects that 'never happen to anyone' happened to me! It was sooooo bad!
I would never take it again.

But thats just me. I'm thinking about going on the patch.

thats why i want to quit smoking before i even get pregnant. They say that it can be worse bc what happens is your body goes into shock after you quit, and this happens when you give up other things too that your body is used to. The shock that your body can go through while you're pregnant can cause harm. And if i were to find out i was pregnant i wouldn't be able to smoke so dont want to be in that situation. Thats why i want to quit now before i plan to have kids

He did that too- didn't work. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is the last attempt at quitting,
