Of course I'm defensive. I happen to be just as skinny as Tara is in that picture and I also have a few bones that tend to stick out. Sometimes it's embarrassing and I have to wear clothes that make me look like I have more meat on my bones, just so that I don't have to hear comments like 'Oh, she must be sick.' I am not anorexic, not bulemic, and I don't use 'nose candy.' I am skinny and no matter what I do I cannot put on weight. It's genetic. It's annoying because I would love to look curvy and have a nice chest with cleavage in my wedding gown but that's just not gonna happen and when I see someone that does have that, I don't try to rip them apart and say, 'Oh, she must have had a boob job.' I'm just so sick and tired of girls with their comments always saying that there must be something wrong with a person if they're extremely skinny. That's not always the case and I'm totally PMSing and feel the need to say this right now. I'm sure I'll care less about this next week!

It is one thing to be naturally skinny (as many celebs are and they look healthy and amazing), another to suddenly drop a boatload of weight and have that bobblehead taut look (Nicole Richie, etc).

gimme a break- why is it that every time someone looks thin we have to say she's anorexic or doing drugs? Some people are thin and others aren't. Girls have to deal with that without saying, 'She looks sick....' If she was grossly overweight nobody would dare say anything because god forbid you say anything about a fat person. But for some reason it's ok to make derogatory remarks about thin women.. Enough already!!!! Anytime I hear a woman say something mean about a thin person I just think it sounds like deep down your jealous.

Ummm - no - when I think someone lokos fat, I do the same thing! Does that mean I am jealous of fat people? ??? That makes no sense!! I'm sorry - unattractive is unattractive - when I speak my mind, I'm not jealous. Hell - I am JEALOUS of Angelina Jolie's body, and I say that all the time. I think her figure is damn hot, and I wish I was as tall and as svelte as her - she has sexy curves!!! Not freaky thin at all - but if she ever got freaky thin, I would be like - what the hell woman???

I am sorry to offend anybody but I must say this....

In one picture there are people making comments about how 'fat' she is, now she is 'too skinny'. Perhaps if the general public did not hold them under such a microscope, these women would be okay with their bodies.

In her most current pic (the first one posted), I think she looks beautiful.

I agree with Amy. And to add to my earlier post, people say things without having any worry the effect they may have on others. Things like this are what cause many people, stars and otherwise, to have eating disorders.

I totally agree with you - and I am guilty of doing both! I feel I am such a hypocrite, and i do feel sorry for celebrities because they are under a microscope, but I have to say - Tara is not Meryl Streep. Her career is pretty much based on her looks. No one ever said - my god, look at how fat Meryl streep got! Because her acting is what she is famous for.

These days - name one actress - just one - that is known for her acting more so than for her looks. I think that's the first problem...

that is fine but throwing around terms like 'anorexia' is UNACCEPTABLE in my opinion!

That is a serious disease and it is not to be taken lightly. It is unfair for those of us who have NO CLUE as to what this girl is doing to sit at our computers and judge her.

If you have nothing nice to say don't say anything at all. What ever happended to that rule. I know I preach it to my students, so why can't adults follow it as well.

and I am so sorry to sound so angry but this is an issue I feel strongly about. My anger is not directed toward any one person on this board but on society in general I guess.

I think everyone is getting a little heated over this topic and needs to cool down a bit. I believe the initial post was about how much weight she's dropped from the past up until the recent picture that's posted. And we can't lie to ourselves, she's lost ALOT of weight. But on a lighter note, I do like the hair. It makes her look more sophisticated than the old stringy 'do she used to have.

I don't think anybody on this board would appreciate somebody coming up to them and saying 'Wow looks like you put on a few pounds over the holidays,huh?' or 'god you are too thin, eat would you.'

i really garee with you here - unfortunately, I have been on the receiving end of a lot of this...

My family is very body-focused - my gma is still a size 2-4, and she works very hard for her figure - she has put me and my cousins under the microscope our entire lives - I love her to pieces, but she really made us very self conscious about our bodies. My stepmom, although heavy, comments on people's bodies all the time - and I have joked in the past here and said if I gained or lost 5 pounds, a press conference would be put together to announce it...

my neice is 11 yrs old and bulimic - so its touchy for me here too...

Yes, society and family does a lot to us - and then we take it out on poor Tara!!!

exactly, lipglossjunky, in my house what I eat,how much I eat and what I don't eat and how much I workout, is always a HUGE topic.

In high school I was a little overweight but by graduation I was 90 pounds (not too small I am only 5'2') but I have been on both ends and you can never please anybody.

I have to deal with people on a daily basis telling me to eat more ,that I am too thin, skip the gym for one day and so on, yet if I eat one cookie at Christmas I get comments as well.

Very frustrating. I think about this everytime I go to eat anything at all and I know how it could be. That is why it always bothers me to see things like this.

I'm not jealous of anyone, don't care to look like anyone else--it was just my opinion. I'll refrain from posting these fun tidbits if people are gonna freak out. All I was saying was, Wow, she's too thin and she was beautiful before.

edited to say that I know we don't know her personally,and sure, we shouldn't accuse her of being anorexic,but celebs put themselves out there. When you see Tara on her show acting like a druken little hussy it's fine for me to say, 'Geez! What a bimbo she seems like!' Now, I see 'skinny' pics and I go, Wow! She's thin and that seemed fast! When her dress falls down and her t*ts come out and she's standing there smiling and doesn't even know her dress fell down, I can make fun of her--because she chooses to be in the spotlight.

You keep posting girl - I love posts like this - yes, we did venture off the path with our own experiences and how we relate to the pic - but everything is about perspective, and we always come back to earth.... I think she's a skanky ho, I'm not jealous of her, and yes, she went from plump to bony pretty quickly!!!!
