I have said it from the beginning that he needs to have complete creative control. He needs to rock out with a platform that will allow that and I really, honestly don't think that American Idol would have done that. It wouldn't have hurt... but after all the producers he worked with on this show and of all the people that saw his talent...

HE HAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!!

hes auditioning to be the new lead singer for fuel - he may already have the job, it was just a matter of waiting for ai to be over - so this is good for him

i think it was more the way the tool told him he was leaving, the hell was that about??

I bet because no one imagined he'd be going so soon. Everyone was shocked! Even SiMON!!! I don't think anyone knew what to say about it.

You know what else? He's the only one that doesn't seem like he could be 'merchandised' by American Idol. I think he's too true to himself and his style. All the other contestants really don't have that OOMPH factor so they'll be easily molded into the American Idol mold.

Sorry ladies, I know how you all like him! I never would have guessed him tonight, I have no idea how this happened.

Reminds me of when LaToya London got voted off when she was clearly, without a doubt, a much better singer than any of the other contestants at the time. She just didn't have the popularity.

I stopped watching that season, I was so pissed.

As I said on LIF, as long as he was in the top ten, he is locked into a contract and a tour. He wont be able to record with Fuel. And after this fiasco, he certainly doesnt need to be part of a band. HE could exist on his own.

BUTTTT I agree that he will be fine.. after he gets out of his stupid AI contract,

Hopefully someone will buy out his contract with them for him like they did with kelly clarkson.

(May 11, 11:00AM ET) -- Chris Daughtry will get an offer tonight to front a famous band. It will unfold on the television show 'EXTRA.'

Members of the band will appear on the 'EXTRA' set to make the offer.

In a stunning turn of events, Daughtry, who was the odds-on favorite to win the 'American Idol' competition, was booted last night.

Daughtry was on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM radio show in Los Angeles this morning, where the 'A.I.' host, who is in on the secret, urged the singer to watch 'EXTRA' tonight.

TMZ knows the name of the band, but we're sworn to secrecy. But trust us, it's a big deal. Watch 'EXTRA' tonight.
