Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

I am a new bride and am SERIOUSLY considering FT.

I have a few concerns though, before I book.

1-is it too good to be true? I got a great price quote that includes tax/gratuity, viennese hr, seafood, etc. where's the catch?

2-has anyone ever gone to their hotel in greece?

3-if they are so good, why haven't alot of people heard about them? everytime i mention it, people are like, where? hmmm.... Russo's n El Caribe are known b/c of their food/service, if FT is so good, why do so few people know about it?

Anyway, i am pretty sure we'll go with them b/c they have offered the most for the least amt of $.

just wanted some help!
thanks in advance

maria

There are so many different wedding halls that it is impossible to know about every single one of them. I am getting married there and I LOVE it. I have heard nothing but the best. From the previous brides who got married there they have nothing bad to say, the service is excellent, the food is awesome and they reall do take care of you. Your the ONLY wedding, you have the entire place to yourself.
Good Luck in choosing.

Past FT brides-did MaryAnn or Arienthe contact you for the final meetings or did you call? And about how far before your wedding??

Thank you!!!

Yes, Marianne called me about the final. If I am correct, I went in somewhere around Feb for mine

Maria,
To answer your questions, I was shocked with the amount of food we got for the price we had! I thought something could not be right, but I was WRONG!!! FT went above & beyond for us & our guests are still talking about it.

I am actually shocked that no one knows about them bc whenever I told someone, they knew EXACTLY where I was talking about. One thing that FT doesn't do, they don't advertise like the other halls! I asked them about this & their exact answer 'We rely on word of mouth' I happen to think this is classy as they don't want to become 'just another hall' That is what keeps FT as amazing as it is!

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

Yes, I agree...what FT offers seems too good to be true...but I had a tasting there and have heard great things about it so I know we all picked a great hall!!

Our Wedding is 16 months away and it's going quickly, can't wait to pull up at FT as a bride!!!

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

Hey ladies,

How's everyone doing? I am so excited about getting married at FT! I have heard SO many great things about FT from all of the past brides, as well as family and friends that have been there before. I had 4 people tell me that FT was the best wedding they have ever been to. I just know that FH & I are going to be so happy with everything they do for us! Has anyone stayed in their hotel in Greece yet? I was interested to know how it was. Also where did you girls block off rooms for your OOT guests. I was thinking about blocking rooms at the Floral Park Motor Lodge, and I just wanted to make sure it was nice.

TIA

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

Yes actually that is one of my questions, where did you girls block rooms near the FT?

I can't wait, I'm going 7/21 for my food tasting. That is exactly one year until I get married there.

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

Another question - for anyone that had the VH, about how much of the reception time did it take up? I have the VH, but I really want people to dance for the extra hour, so I was thinking about getting the trays instead so it does not take up as much time eating dessert. But if people only stop for about 15 minutes for the VH, then I will keep it.

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

They set up the VH in the foyer area outside the ballroom so it won't disrupt anyone who wants to dance...that's what I love about their VH.

When FH and I had our food tasting, we brought three additonal ppl. with us and with the amount of food they gave us we could have brought three more!! LOL

It did not distract those dancing for more then 10 minutes...It is done in the foyer, so the dance floor is still open! My guests stopped dancing when they opened the doors to the VH & then most came back to the dance floor with plates of goodies!!! Truly, it was another hit at our wedding...I would not do without it!!!

We blocked rooms at the Marriott in Uniondale...It was only 10 minutes away & our guests were very happy with the accommodations

Re: Official Floral Terrace Thread!

Thanks girls! As long as I know my guests won't stop dancing for the whole hour (only about 15-20 minutes), then I am happy! I am definitely going to keep it. I do love the fact that it is in a separate area, not on the dance floor like most places. Thanks!!!
