Fred's a dope IMO- definitely deal with Ana directly.

Also, make sure you specify exactly what you want. If you book, specify in the contract # and types of flowers. If you want Ana to set them up herself, you have to put that in the contract too.

As far as some of the concerns recently voiced regarding any particular florist, I would try to remember that no vendor has a perfect record. Everyone has their supporters and detractors and everyone gets bad reviews from time to time. When I see consistently bad reviews I get concerned. Right now, NFW gets mixed reviews. I just try remembering how gorgeous some of the pictures of the LI weddings they've done are and hope that mine look just as pretty. I am one of the girls that is concerned about how my flowers will look based on my personal interactions with them recently; however, almost all the pictures I've seen of their work show lovely flowers. THISCLOSE to my wedding, I have to believe that mine will be too.

I just came home from going to NW Florist..I was blown away with Ana and how amazing she was. I posted recently about florist troubles due to FMIL paying and me having to use her family friend who does not do weddings and no centerpieces. I thought Ana was wonderful and I am using her for centerpieces and have to get FMIL on board for her doing the whole thing.
Thanks so all who have posted and I just found this thread. I am so excited now about my flowers.

Yikes-we better be careful. They are doing my flowers for the same day. I had thought they only do 1 wedding per day. I'll double check with Ana-what time are your ceremony and reception? Ana said she personally sets up the flowers (I thought).

CH for the reception starts at 7pm, after my last florist disaster I don't care if she was doing 6 weddings. I am happy to have a florist. What time are you??

Adding my sample CP pics - will ultimately add some pink hydrangea on top and a little less bark in the middle - but I love it! Feels like the outside but indoors! Anna did an amazing job.

Our ceremony start time is 5:30 so we should be fine. I think she is delivering personl flowers by 2 and reception flowers by 4:30.

Ladies, just remember, some of us had our wedding already with Anna and all I know was mine was GORGEOUS and I dont think I paid much at all! You have no worries. A tip for everyone no matter what florist you use - make sure everything is listed in your contract from the exact color of your flowers to the # of flowers, time of delivery - everything. :)

I have been getting nasty FMs from certain people and on the thread people are saying why I am not entitled to my opinion and my negativity. If the vendor I used was positive and favorable, I say good things. If it is the opposite, I will state my opinion. My opinion is based on my experience, not hearsay or third parties.

As some people have pointed out, I used NFW and I spoke from my experience. I know when I was a future bride, I was reading reviews and trying to learn from others experience.

I do NOT recommend NFW like I have written numerous times across the boards. However, if you are going to use them be as explicit as you can in your contracts. So you don't get, 1) smaller bouquets than expected, 2) bouts that fall apart, 3) flowers delivered to the wrong location (which was written in the contract), 4) requests such as having arrangements put in flower baskets as opposed to petals (again written in the contract).

When I spoke to Anna AFTER my wedding, her comeback was merely, I have no right to complain because I got a good deal on my centerpieces so it all washes in the end.

I was a National Floral bride. Ann was for the most part professional with us and worked with our budget. I loved the colors of the flowers and Anna was helpful in matching the flowers to our BMs outfits etc. She was also accomodating in letting us use candles in our CPs that we purchased.

On my wedding day, I felt as if the bouquets were on the small side, she had put a green leaf of some sort on my bouqet when I had said I didn't want any greenery.

The wreaths were pretty but they looked nothing like the sample I was shown. I was to have an arrangement in my flower girl baskets and all they got were petals. I complained after the wedding, and Anna said this wasn't the case even after reading the contract. And then she started saying that she gave us a really good deal (financially) on our package, but I don't see how this makes up for the missing flowers in the 3 flower girl baskets. It was a $20 issue so I just dropped the subject. I wanted arrangements and petals in the baskets for the pictures.

I don't have a review on the boards yet but I posted some of the pictures on this thread

I see that some of the brides had a personality conflict with Anna. Another good florist that I found was Linden Florist. Although I did not book with her, and she isn't a LIW vendor, I recommend her highly. She has very competitive prices with National Floral.

I could be wrong but I dont think anyone was upset with you giving your opinion as you have explained why and you have used them.

I think people are speaking of the 'I dont recommend them' and then not telling them why. It would be helpful to know why being that some of them have already booked and would like to know what problems could occur before their wedding.

Its not that negative replies are not 'allowed' I think the girls just want to know why.
