Re: OK ladies - lets get mushy here - in honor of Valentines day, lets talk about the very 1st time...

FH and I work together on Wall St. Any sort of relationship would be prohibited in the workplace
When we began hanging out, we would debate for hours about politics and our families and our lives in NY.
When we would leave one another, FH would kiss me on the hand--EVERYTIME
It would freak me out. Hand kissing--how 1800 of him. What was he communicating I would ask all my friends.
The night of our Christmas party I had a car drop him off at his apartment and then me to mine. He kissed my on the hand again and then we finally KISSED. He then took my hand and put it on his heart. He wanted me to see how nervous he was. I melted right then in there.

Sidebar: FH always tells this story saying I kissed him and he was only bending down to tie his shoe. He doesn't own any shoes with laces

It was our first date, we were at the movies and he leaned over and gave me a kiss! Then after the movie we went to my house and ate icecream and we just sat on the couch kissing until 3am!! It was the best!

Our first kiss was on our first date on Valentine's Day 1999. (We didn't actually become a couple until October of that year) We finally went out on a date after two years of friendship and 1 1/2 years of him courting me! Lol. We went to this adorable little Italian restaurant in the village. After a great meal, he drove me home and once we stopped in front of my house there was the 2 mins of silence and awkwardness b/c we both knew it was coming. So finally, I said thank you for the great night and leaned in for what I made him think was a kiss on the cheek ,and landed it on his lips. It lasted for a bit, but not too long. The funny thing is that a few days ago we were going thru our stuff b/c we are getting ready to move, and I came across a small bottle of Champagne (like a favor), and he told me that it was the complimentary bottle we got at the restaurant on our first date and he kept it because of the significance of that date.

AWWWWwwww - how sweet - isn't it amazing how sentimental men can be??? We get the reputation, but its so not true!!!

This thread is so cute!

I also met FH online, and finally planned to meet him on a Friday night in October after talking on the phone for two months. I live in NJ and he lived in PA at the time. On the way to pick me up at my apartment he got in a car accident!!!! I wound up having to pick him up at some random Applebee's in the middle of NJ somewhere. We had dinner and then headed to the garage where his car was towed to pick up his stuff. When he got in my car he gave me a bunch of little gifts and then kissed me. Time literally stopped! Next thing I knew, a cop was shining his light in my car window wanting to know what we were up to. We haven't been apart since.

I really think that men have it in them too. Some just choose to hide it b/c of their pride. Deep down they are just as mushy as us girls!

When we were on summer break during college, we were both drunk and under age at a bar in Huntington on a Friday night when the special was 'all you can drink until someone pees', very romantic, but we were chatting and then he leaned over and said: is it ok if I kiss you? I responded with OK, but it has to be quick because this guy I'm seeing might be coming in soon (luckily that guy's fake ID wasn't good enough to get him in the bar).

Re: OK ladies - lets get mushy here - in honor of Valentines day, lets talk about the very 1st time...

Great thread idea!! Mine is a 3-parter.

1) On our first date we just sat around talking and at the end of the night we were standing outside of my car. When we were hugging good-bye he stole a quick peck on my cheek. I don't count it as our first kiss, but it was sweet.

2) The following weekend I was out of town and when I got back we met up. While we were sitting at a stop light he asked if he could have a kiss, and I told him NO!! I said 'I want our first kiss to be special.' I felt so bad, he was disappointed bc he just wanted another peck on the cheek, but then the light turned green and he had to drive so the moment passed.

3) Later that night we were cuddling in the back of his truck (parked outside of Land's End) when he reached over and turned my face towards his so he could lean in and !!!!!! I was in heaven. Of course, after he pulled away he had to ask 'so was that special enough?' Such a wise @ss, we're perfect for eachother!!! Naturally I said yes!!

I decided right then that it would be perfect to have our wedding reception there, but it turned out to be too expensive. Oh well, it's still a special place for us!!

Re: OK ladies - lets get mushy here - in honor of Valentines day, lets talk about the very 1st time...

Cool thread indeed.

Well our first 'date' wasn't really one...we were supposed to go to the movies with friends but all the friends purposely backed out since they either knew I liked him or were told to because people thought something was up.

So we go to the movies and then to dinner, still not really a date. I then ask DH if he has ever been to Georgetown Harbor an dhe hadn't. I said I'll have to take you there sometime...he goes 'how about now?' We sat by the water and talked on a warm summer day and he bought me roses....I still wasn't sure if he liked me though...then we went to a bar for a bit since DH wanted to use the bathroom there. The line was long so I offered him to use the bathroom in my apt which was pretty close to there. I really had no ulterior motives.

Well he used the bathroom and it was midnight on a Thursday so we were about to part ways...he went to hug me and then we kissed...I went to bed so so happy and was living on Cloud 9 that Friday....I saw him on Sat. and that was the time we really made out
