Ordering dresses over internet

Has anyone had any experience with this?

I am looking at bridemaid dresses for about $180 + tax in the bridal shop. Now, online I am being quoted at $163 with no tax. If I order 5 of them, they are only $147. We'll just need to find a seamstress for possible alterations.

Amy thoughts/concerns/experience?

Do they show the designer's measuring chart on line? Remember that a size 10 can mean different things for different people. You should get all the measurements for each of your girls and then confirm exactly which sizes will fit them.

I'd also make sure its from a reputable site and that you can get all of your money back, less shipping & handling, if you are not happy with the quality when they arrive.

I order online whenever possible and love it! Just be careful of the pitfalls!

Ordering dresses over internet

Hi Lisa,

I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from RK Bridal (www.rkbridal.com). The dress normally costs $191, but I got it through RK Bridal for $150. I ordered the dresses in December and I just picked them up yesterday. They were in perfect condition.

I think its a great way to save your bridesmaids some money. Just be careful who you order from.

My friend bought her bridesmaid dresses from this women off the internet, Shannon Powell. She had no problems. She can get them real cheap. If I would have waited and got my bridemaid dresses from her, she could have saved us $100 each dress. The only thing you have to think about is where to get the alterations. You can reach her at [email protected], the website is http://www.oe-pages.com/BIZ/Homebiz/spowell/

Mention my name Brenda O'Leary

You just have to weigh your options basically. I went to RKBridals store in the city and they have a no frills plan and it was $162 for the dress. No Frills meant you had to find your own place to do the alterations and also take the measurements yourself. The same dress there was $199 if you get it altered there and their alteration fee was capped at $45 (in addition to the higher price). I then went to a place in my area and she gave me the dress for $199 and it included all alterations and the measuring. This made more sense in my situation since the girls didnt know a tailor so it will be all included. Also for example, my size 10/12 bridesmaid has to get either a 14 or a 16 cause the dresses run so small! Just shop around cause basically a store can order your dress even if it isnt in the showroom. Good Luck!

I'm hiring a quartet to visit Paul late morning on our wedding day ...they're going to sing "Going to the Chapel" and give him a special note from me. : )

Sure, its a little corny but its very much my style. : ) When I was a property manager, I'd go caroling with the quartet for the Holidays and everyone loved it!

Discount Bridal Service provides dresses at 20 to 30% off the retail price quoted. If you email me the dress information (manafacturer, what magazine, page number, issue you saw it in) I can give you a quote. I have been a dealer for this company since 1994. We do approx. 85% of t he retailers. W+W, dessy, bari Jay, jim Helm, levkoff, new image...

When I first booked the room, I expressed my concerns to Tiffany. My FMIL will be using that bathroom all night (the reason why we booked it is b/c she is on oxygen and she needs everything on one level b/c she can't climb stairs). Told her it needed to be cleaned & prepped...she said she'd put a flower arrangement in the room.

Ordering dresses over internet

I would be leary of ordering any dress over the Internet. What happens if it doesnt fit or if it is stained? How do you know that the store is legit or that they arent transhipping it? If it is transhipped the return could be hellish. This happened to a friend of mine last year. When you take a dress to a tailor or to a bridal shop that didn't sell it to you they charge alot and they sometimes charge extra to press it. Therefore it may not work out to be that much cheaper.

IT WAS GREAT!! Paul, who usually is very uncomfortable on the dance floor, was laughing and having a great time! I highly recommend it for anyone who is uncomfortable dancing - its great for building confidence!

And we finally chose a song too - for those who are familiar with Jim Brickman, its called "Your Love" on the Destiny album. The track BEFORE the title song.....
