i hear ya.
i am planning the wedding completely by myself (no help from anyone) and it gets frustrating when my fiance magically thinks i am going to get everything done. So i whine and complain a little bit and i give him extremely specific things that i need help for him to do and he does them! he actually gets things done a lot faster than i would be able to do them. So it kinda works out... i do all the research and figure out what i want, he makes the final decision and does all the legwork like calling the vendors and negotiating prices and signing contracts.

Try to get him involved more... when we went to meet with the photographer, my fh set it all up himself and we went to the city, had a great time with the photographer, and then went out to dinner and made a night of it.

He has come with me too ALL the appointments and even though I have to ask him a million times to do something he eventually gets it done and has never complained.
I think the reason guys aren't as into it is because they just want to get married and think they don't care about the whole big hoopla. (although i think they secretly do )

My fiance helped me out last night!!!! I felt bad and maybe thought to myself...'Why not be wonder woman and do it all by yourself?' But I realized that I was starting to hate the planning process. It's too much work to take by yourself!!! I just want to get it out of the way. I think it's the vendors that have me feeling so blahhhh. The only things that I feel good about are my dress and Dj. I still don't have a florist & Photographer/videographer because I can't stand the ones I've met. I haven't found the one. Wish me luck ladies!!! I'm going to need it!!!!

I am doing it all alone- I run things by my sis or freinds- and my Dad comes when there is more then $1000 involved

My Mom passed away almost a year ago- so it's just me- not the way I always pictures it- but I am still having fun-

They do have it easy, i'm planning w/no other help. I finally gave him projects, he is in charge of getting the guest hotel shuttle, our limo to and from airport. I'm sure i'll be giving him more.

I can't even get the address of Jake's freinds from him- make sure you guys bring this up on Saturday when we come over- I want Jake to see how lucky he is!

FI has come with me to every appointment and has never complained. However I do all of the research and legwork. FI is involved and wants to have a say in everything but it gets frustrating sometimes because I am tired of researching everything. I am doing this by myself (with the help of FI). My family is not involved and I am not close to my mother.

Why do men think that the wedding planning is our job? Is it me or weren't they the ones that asked us to marry them? This planning is so overwhelming. I think my fiance was all there at first until other men starting telling him to let me do all of the work. RRRR, men.

I see I'm pretty late on this post but I'm gonna add my two cents anyway...

Personally, I like the idea that my FI isn't as involved. My brother was a total groomonster and it was ridiculous. He made my SIL a nut and caused more stress than necessary. I mean HE was obsessed - He actully was worried about the color of the ribbon being used on their FAVORS!!! 'It was NOT THE RIGHT COLOR PURPLE' If my FI was that way I'd KILL him!!!

Having said that, my FI takes a part in the decision making, I just do the preliminary legwork, but when it's time to make a decision he's there and honestly I'm fine with that. This day is way more important to me than it is to him. That's not to say getting married isn't important to him, it's just all this planning isn't!

Basically we looked at all the vendors togather and he gives me his input but I do all the leg work and love it and I show him things and he gives me his input and he does come up with some ideas.

Mine has it soooo easy. I do the booking and setting appts and tell him and then he comes w/me....What a hard job

It's feel great to know that I'm not the only one. He actually finished reading the book that I got him from the library on being a supportive groom. It's called, 'The Groom's Guide. Almost Everythihg a man needs to know' by Vicki Mack. My fiance read it in two day on his commute to work. He says he highly recommends it I think he's back to being his lovable self again. Actually pretended like he wanted to go with me to the florist today, . I told him I preferred to go alone because I didn't want to hear him complain later on that I didn't ask the right questions. He told me that he wouldn't do that anymore . Anyways, make your guys read the book if they don't get the hint
