Photo Montage Songs - childhood songs to grown up songs

I have been meaning to post this on here for quite some time. We are having a photo montage at our wedding and I am confused on 2 items.

I am having a really hard time coming up with some song ideas. I am in need of 3 songs.

I am really not sure of how I will do the montage since FH does not have as many pics as I do from his teenage years to early 20's.

At first I was going to do all childhood pics taking turns between a pic of him and a pic of me, etc. Now I am thinking that maybe I should do a song dedicated totally to my younger years through my 20's and his younger years up until the age of 12 and whatever I can get together. His mom only has pics of him up until the age of 12! I was thinking of making the last song all about us.

I really need your opinions on this. Do you think this will look fine or should I just do the original idea of a pic of him, pic of me, etc?

I also need 3 songs. I was thinking of doing for our childhood pics - What a Wonderful World as one of them but the song is very short (2 mins) and then maybe doing That's What Friends are For?

I really need some suggestions on what I should do about the pics and songs.

Please help.

TIA!!

Isn't She Lovely (for you, obviously)
Through the Years?.....cheesy, but often used
This Will Be An Everlasting Love- for both of you

Re: Photo Montage Songs - childhood songs to grown up songs

We are probably going to use I will Remember You by Sarah McLachlan.

I wanted to use the wonder years theme song but FH vetoed it.

My first choice was Book of Love by Peter Gabriel for our couple photo montage. FH doesn't like that song either.

What other songs were maybes for you?

We are currently working on the slideshow. Nothing is finalized yet. I don't know why it is so hard to pick a song for the slideshow!

I'll Remember - Sarah McLachlan
I Remember You - Madonna
Wonder Years
These are Days - Natalie Merchant
Dreams - Cranberries
Time of Your Life - Green Day

We are probably using I could not ask for more by Edwin McCain for our couple slideshow song.

I'm also loving the Grey's Anatomy song - Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol.

Too many choices!!!

We might use 'Wouldn't it be nice' by the Beach Boys or how bout the yukelale type version of 'Somewhere over the rainbow' from 50 First Dates? I might use both of those songs…..one for childhood pics & then the other for our dating pics.

I think that 'Be My Little Baby' by the Ronettes can be a cute song for growing up/dating pics.

I just started to really think about songs for the photo montage recently. I've come up with:

These are the Times to Remember by Billy Joel, My Girl for childhood girl pics,
What a Wonderful World but it is only 2 minutes long
Wonder Years Song (as you were thinking)

This is really tough!

I love the Edwin McCain song for couples pics but FH's sister used it for her montage 3 years ago.

Thanks for all the helpful songs. It is very hard to pick songs for this. I don't know why either.

Re: Photo Montage Songs - childhood songs to grown up songs

Hi Trish!

I only had to use two songs because our pictures were me, him, me, him, me, him, etc. then followed by a bunch of us together as a couple.

We used (I don't know the name exactly) 'today I met the boy I'm gonna marry'...that song from Father of the Bride for the alternating me, him, me, him, etc. Then we used 'Better Together' by Jack Johnson for the ones of us together.

HTH!

Hey Katie! How are you? I hope all is well and thanks for your input. I really appreciate it. I know of the first song but am not so familiar with the 2nd. Thanks for your input though, I appreciate it.

Did you start when you were young and grow up via pictures?

My future sister in law did it this way for her montage and I loved it. That's how I wanted to do ours but being that FH doesn't have many pics when he was a teenager well, it just doesn't work. I think that's a real nice way to do it. She also included a pic of them together like every 6 pictures through their childhood and growing up years and adulthood. I wanted to do ours that way but am not sure it can be done. It's different.

We did it this way too, but we only used 1 song for the entire montage - G-d Blessed the Broken Road, by Rascal Flatts.

ETA: I meant to quote Katie&Chris. We alternated pics too from youngest to oldest, then did our couple pics

The only problem with this is that FH doesn't have a lot of pictures from hs and college as I do.

He has tons of pics when he was a baby, toddler, little kid, then barely any pictures of when he was a teenager and college. He said that he and his friends don't go around taking pictures together.

hmmmm I'm beginning to think this is the time in his life that he took a lot of pictures with his ex gf.
