Never thought to ask my sister's friend. Not a bad idea at all. I am not sure if the hall would do it or if i would even trust them. How much do you think a florist would charge for the pedestals? I am glad to see you might be doing it too, now i am going to keep bugging you LOL! I may do the picture or tweak it a little by putting the candles together at various heights and then the pedestals. I don't know if i am capable of this DIY project but if it means saving a ton of money I am going to have to do it. I don't really care for the high pieces anyway. I also IMO think it is such a waste. Ok, i am going to stop rambling----sorry.

im not sure how much a florist would charge for the petals... there are places online where you can buy freeze dried ones... or even fake ones that look really realistic... that is an option... i'll probably start playing around with ideas this summer, when i have more time!

Instead of spending 100s of dollars (that i dont have) on CPs, for an extra 100 Id rather invite one of FSIL's trusted friends to the wedding to take care of it!! I think it is a very doable DIY... as long as you have the help!! definately not something a bride should do the day of!!

These were our centerpieces... you can't see it, but the candles floating in the glass bowl are floating leaf candles in the same colors (red, orange and yellow)

these are mine but they will be on a silver base that allows them to sit higher. the candle rings will have white roses and there will be silver thin ribbon hanging down from them. Also we will use floating candles and the holder will be filled with clear marbles and water for the candle to float on.
