can't afford a house yet - living in an apt on the 1st floor of a house.

We are paying for the entire wedding ourselves so we will be in our apartment for another year after we get married. Dont want to rent but we really have no choice. cant save for both at the same time (wedding and house) with the bills we both have. We have been living together for a year now- he moved in to my apt. Hopefully after a year we will be able to buy a home. Its just so hard b/c houses a RIDICULOUSLY priced right now.. is anyone else out there stressed over this?

We actually just bought a coop in the city. The hard thing was getting the down payment together but our mortgage and maintance is cheaper then rent by about $500.

We are working on buying a house now. We are waiting to go to contract, and hope to be in by the wedding. we are building a space for my in-laws too. Its to expensive for us to live here without combining families! Praying all works out......

Wow...this poll is so close to being split right down the middle...

I wish we could buy a house right now...we just can't...well...we could probably afford one in PA...we just don't know if we're ready to move there yet.

kdelace- trust me you are not the only one stressed about this!
FH and I waited to get engaged so we could save enough money for the wedding (paying ourselves) and some for our DP. But the whole house things stresses me out! Even after teh DP its so much money each month, I cant even think about it! FH is sooooo excited about the house buying, I however break into a sweat when thinking about it!!
