Re: poll: Who's getting married at a church vs. RH?

RH! I'm Jewish, FH is not, neither of us are very religious. RH seems to be the best compromise. We're having a rabbi officiate though since it's more important to me than it is to him.

Re: poll: Who's getting married at a church vs. RH?

I always imagined getting married in my church. Even though FH is Jewish we'd probably still be able to get married in a Methodist Church. But, it wasn't a big issue for me to get married in a Church. I always thought that's what you did but once I went to a wedding in a hall I actually thought it was great to go straight from the ceremony to the CH.

Re: poll: Who's getting married at a church vs. RH?

RH -- Jewish!
Its rare for there to be a ceremony in a synagogue that isn't also a RH.

Re: poll: Who's getting married at a church vs. RH?

Technically, a Greek Orthodox ceremony could take place absolutely anywhere, as long as the specific piece of cloth that covers the altar is used outside the church. That's something I learned way back in 6th grade at St. Demetrios Greek School of Astoria.

I have a feeling G-O ceremonies are done only in churches today because our parents would have a fit if the ceremony wasn't in a church!
