if you go to classique dont go to katie joe - not sure if she still works there, she probably does not, but i used to work with her back in the day at another salon and she wasnt that great

i heard that Bea from BeaBeautiful is supposed to be a good make up artist but i have never been there so im not sure.....but SI wedding forums talk about her alot

thank you ladies. Looks like i might stick with christie's. Im gonna call Dh to go over timeline for tomorrow and then decide, its either christies or getting my make up done in SI. I'd prefer to get it done early afternoon so its more fresh when we take pics, rather than getting it done in the morning but also dont want to rush to get back to the hotel, we have to start taking pics between 3-4pm

Avanti's in Staten Isalnd does a great job on both hair and make up!

Is is well know and one of the stylist actually was on an MTV wedding special years ago (The Russo's Wedding - it was very memorable -lol)

OMG i just realized you are talking about Helen - Hilton wedding right? i cant believe her wedding is here!!!!! tell her Future Mulligan said congrats my FH laughs because i remember the time of year everyone on LIW gets married - im like babe i see the dates next to their names i cant help but remember

Ok well tomorrow is helen's wedding and I am a BM. Just getting a wash and blow dry for hair bc its real short and just cut it again yesterday so not much else i can do. But i am definitely getting my make up done. I thought i would go to christie's & co. Still might go but trying to think of other options. i was wondering if i should do it in SI instead. DH and i are leaving early from queens to check into the hotel and get ready there.

I personally cant think of anyone that is real good with make up in astoria or forest hills, christies is the only place that comes to mind. Do you know of any other places?

Or if you know a real good place in SI, i might get it done there.

Its stupid why im even considering a different place, but only reason is bc i feel its the opposite direction of where im going and gonna backtrack but eh its not that far so shouldn't be bad.

Plus the price for make up at christie's is real good and i know they do good work. Guess i just have to make sure i get out of there on time

well i ended up making an appt at christies & Co. I have no idea who is doing it though. Ive had my make up done there before but the girl left and i am taking whomever is available hahaha, but im trusting them.

I had to go with christie's instead of a place in SI bc if we hit alot of traffic then i might be real late for an appt and set me back and might be late for pics. At least this way i know what time i will be there and what time ill be done.

are you talking about someone at christie's? bc thats how much they charge for regular make up and airbrush is $60. I made an appt for 11am

YES, i definitely will post a review and lots of pics. We are taking pics on their grounds, ceremony is at the hilton and reception obviously lol so ill have alot to say about nicotras.

I think Nicky at Space in Astoria is phenomenal. I love how she did my makeup for my son's christening. I'm not a big fan of Christie's makeup to be honest with you but that could be just the two artists I had. One came straight from MAC and made me look like a drag queen and the other was just not listening to what i wanted.

Nicky at space hit the nail on the head. And it lasted all night.

yes, for years now...but Dimitry when to Greece yesterday :( -

but i have another guy Mike @ the queens center mall who does great make up - especially with the eyes! it wasn't airbrush like Dimitry's but i couldn't compare -and he charged 30 buks! can't beat it...
