Re: Re-Post...Did your FI ask your family before proposing to you??
lol...he actually asked my younger brother...which was cute and funny...my dad passed away when I was young...so he figured he's adk the man of the house...lol oh how funny when we got back from our trip (we got engaged in Florida) the first thing my mom says when we walk through the door was 'If I'm not mistaken I was the one who raised her not her younger brother!'...fh was embarrassed until he caught on that she was joking with her...he's still apologizing to her...2 months later...lol

Yes he asked my dad the morning that we left for Orlando, FL to get engaged. He waited outside for my dad, b/c he knew what time my dad went to work.

He mentioned to my mom that he was interested in proposing but he was still in school and couldn't afford a ring. My mom offered him her engagement ring from my dad! It is extra special because my dad passed away over 20 years ago and the ring has been in storage ever since. No one has seen it since then so it was like brand new to all!! She told him to give her a few days warning whenever he wanted it and whenever he felt ready and they could re-size it. Three months later we were engaged!!

It is amazing. My dad died when I was only 5 so I don't really have much from him other than pictures. It is so awesome to have this! I was a big cheeseball when I first got it...I kept looking at it saying 'wow he touched this!' It sounds weird but it was cool to have something that is mine that he chose for my mom. I am going to keep the tradition and pass it along to my
one day!Thanks!

Re: Re-Post...Did your FI ask your family before proposing to you??
FH asked my parents and they said they would be honored to have him in the family so he proposed by saying: 'I've already talked to your parents and they would be honored to have me as a son, and I would be honored if you would be my wife, so will you marry me?' Awwww
