Praying as we speak.......Do what you fel is right, who cares about FMIL, she has no heart it seems......offer to stay at their house, cook them a meal, go to your house of worship and offer her name for the paryers....whatever you feel is right..

Your decision to offer your help to someone in the family is NOT your FMIL's business ! Who is SHE to decide who other people accept help from ?? - If your FH is ok w/ it, offer any help you want ! I'm SURE the family of that little girl would be more than appreciative of your offier, even if there is nothing they need you to do- just knowing you thought of them is comforting

Why dont you ask her parents if they need something. Even if they just need someone to stay with her in the hospital for an hour so they can eat or something. During these times, even something as little as that means so much!
