Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

Alot of these benefits are dependant on your time with the company. no?

1 year with company:
3 Personal
Paid Holidays
Unlimited Sick
2 Weeks Vacation

But the company is so nice, so damn pleasant to work for, that nobody takes advantage of the unlimited sick days.

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

No real benefits here. I get one week after six months; two weeks vacation after a year (for me it will be February). No summer Fridays. Only five company holidays a year. I do have unlimited sick, but it is not to be abused. I probably will have about 5 used at the end of the year.

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

I have pretty awesome PTO:

22 days of vacation
2 personal days
the week between Christmas and New Year's we are closed (but get paid)

20 sick days

all the usual holidays (I think there are 11 or 12 of them)

ETA: I've been there 4 years, but the benefits were the same when I started. They go up to like 30 vacation days per year after 20 years.

I know it is not my business so feel free not to answer- just curious how my job and benefits compare to other L.I. girls....
I know I am lucky in the benefits dept- I get 12 sick days, 6 personal days, and 4 weeks vacation.
How is everyone else doing?

This is what I get, also.

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

24 vacation days, unlimited sick, about 3 floating holidays and closed between xmas and new year's. I work at a university and once the fall semester ends in mid Dec it is DEAD here so my boss also puts us on skeleton crew the week before xmas so you prob only have to come in for two half days.

You have these benefits from day 1!!

I'm in my second year at my job and I get 16 days (sick and vacation combined). It will go up one day a year to a max of 20 days per year. We also get 9 paid holidays.

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

I have been there 4 years at my company. I have gone up salary wise $15,000 in that time frame. I get 12 vacation days plus the option to buy 5 more ( which everyone does!) so 17 total and sick days are counted as 'occurences' meaning one-five days equals one occurence and no more then 2 in a 6 month period..so basically you could take 20 sick days a year without getting in trouble if you took consectutive 5 day periods. We get 1 personal day.

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

I have been with my company 9 1/2 years. This is what I get:

9 Paid Holidays
3 Weeks Vacation
6 Sick Days
3 Personal Days

We are allowed to roll over our vacation (double the amount you have per year) and sick days but have to take the personal or you lose them.

I personally think I am underpaid for what my boss gets (don't know exactly) and she does NOTHING all day!

Re: Salary and benefits poll- sick days posts got me thinking

I get 80 hours of vacation, 80 hours of sick/holiday time. I don't get any 'free' holidays the time has to come out of my 80 hours of sick/holiday. It really stinks, you have to be here 10 years to get 120 hours of vacation. We don't get any Berevement time or Jury duty time they both have to come out of the sick/holiday time....DOESN'T THAT STINK!?!?!?!?!?
