Second guessing my head piece HELP

Been a while since I bugged anyone on here, so here I go again! (And since I can never write a small posting here it goes!)

I picked up my veil, took me forever to find one since I wasnt sure how to wear my hair.(which by the way has started falling out now that the wedding is getting real close, a whole nother issue in itself!!)

I tryed the one on in the bridal store, your basic crown with pearls all over it. The one in the store had a short two layer veil. Even the girl at the store agreed with me that I am tall and thin and needed a longer veil. I coustom ordered it....added a layer to it,making it "finger tip" length.

Judy - Your dress sounds just like mine A-line, plain, no train. Don't 2nd guess yourself. Asking a guy about a veil is the wrong way to go. Ask your girlfriends. Guys always see things as too puffy. You will be beautiful.

Maybe your right, I wish I had a picture that I could show someone on here, LOL. I thought about asking my mother, but I wonder sometimes how honest she would be since she wouldnt want to upset me lol

Judy, don't stress. Ask a girlfriend about your veil. I'm sure it's not too puffy. Anyways, it's a veil, you only get to wear one once, so make it dramatic!

I had second thoughts about my dress. But know I love it.

I agree with Kate, my fiance always says that things are to puffy. I can never take his opinion. Although he's the one that has to like it the most, he has no sense of style. When he says stuff like that I explain to him that that's the way it suppose to be.

Try it on with the dress, if you like it, go with it. If you mess with the veil you may not like it afterwards and then what do you do?

I had the same thing happen. I have a similer dress. A line, no train. I knew I wanted and needed something simple for the dress, but even then everything was too much. So I also special ordered a veil. Two layers on a comb (which would go under my "updo" (no blusher). When I got it home and tried it on I realized it was not what I wanted - too puffy. The problem.... the comb is too wide, so the bridal shop will put it on a smaller comb and "thin it out." Maybe this is an option.

There are so many etiquette rules, I hate it. I'm just doing what I want, even though I hear it from my family members. Since my fiance and I are paying for the entire thing, they have no say. That's my opinion.

I think your right about trying the whole thing on together. Good idea! When your a nervous wreck something so simple is not so simple, if you know what I mean :)

I am picking up my finished, fitted gown this friday. I have heard so many negative things about the service in the alterations department of the Carl Place Davids Bridal, I will be sure to let all of you know how that goes!

I think you are just nervous about it. There are so many decisions us women have to make and if we hear a comment that is not exactly what we want to hear sometimes it can really hit you. I can picture my fi saying the same thing. What do they really know about veils anyway? If I were you I would ask my mother or my maid of honor. Just to hear a positive statement :)

I'm hiring a quartet to visit Paul late morning on our wedding day ...they're going to sing "Going to the Chapel" and give him a special note from me. : )

Sure, its a little corny but its very much my style. : ) When I was a property manager, I'd go caroling with the quartet for the Holidays and everyone loved it!

Judy, I am sure that the head piece is fine...at this stage in the game the one thing that I have learned is not to take what people say too seriously...you know what they say about opinions...they are like a_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _, everyone has one! for example. the bra that I picked for my dress, one week the lady at the bridal salon said that the cup was too big. I spent a whole week agonizing over it and thinking about taking it back to have more alterations done to it (I got it at Mary's they do custom work) and then the next week she told me how well the bra fit!! Same thing with the slip, my Mom told me that the one slip was too poofy, I went along with her, and took the smaller one even though I wanted the poofy one, and then the next week I put on the poofy one for the fitting and she did not even notice until I told her. Go with your head piece, he has not seen the finished product yet, and don't show him anything else! you will just upset yourself, if his comments are not what you want to hear.
