Re: settle our feud ... heat related

Ours is set to 65 when we're not home. I turn it up to 70 when we get home from work.

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

we have our heat set at 62 which means its about 64 in the house....but we agree to wear sweatshirts n heavy clothes to save money, and we have an electric heater in the bedroom so we can get busy without our teeth chattering

we have one of these for the bathroom so it's toasty while we are showering, and sometimes in winter i move it into the bedroom for the same reason as you!!!!

We have the same disagreement..

He likes it at like 65 while he's on his asss under a toasty blanket on the couch watching tv...

... while I am sitting at the kitchen table FREEZING while writing out wedding thanks yous every night. No fair! My own fault b/c I don't like his handwriting.

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

We are still figuring out what is best in our apartment. During the day it is turned down and DH wears a sweatshirt (he works from home). When I come home it is anywhere from 65-70 -- but we are on the second floor so it gets really warm fast. We turn it down to 62 or 60 before bed and sleep with the window cracked. We really need to get one with a timer.

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

I think ours stays at 65 (if we're lucky. lol) I've become VERY used to freezing to death every winter. But that's just my family. I won't be living with FH until after the wedding - not sure what he keeps it at, but I do recall being nice and cozy over there

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

DH gets home from work and puts the heat on to 70, before we go to bed we lower it to 65 or so, I can't sleep in a room when it feels stuffy I would rather be a little cold and bury myself under the covers!

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

We are living with the in laws right now, but they keep it at 70 and both FH and I put the fan on in the room. I don't like being too hot when I am sleeping, at least if I get cold at night, I can get warmer by cuddling with FH or something. But I hate being hot.

Re: settle our feud ... heat related

I say turn if up to 68 when you get home from work and turn it back to 66 when you leave in the morning. Also you could try getting a space heater-that might make it better. I wear my ugg boots around because I'm a little chilly and we don't like to turn the heat up so much.

This is what we do, 70 when we're home, and 65ish when we're sleeping

dh is the same way, so when I get home at 2:00 I crank the heat, then when he calls and sez he is on his way I turn it down and get out my blanky.
