I can't remember the author but it is age approriate.

MAUS I & II I read them in college for a course on the Holocaust. They were excellent. It may be appropriate for Middle school.

'The Cage' was an AMAZING book. I met the author/survivor. It was based on her life in Aushowitz (sp?)

eta: we read it in 5th grade. i should really read it again.

yes!!! I read this n 5th grade, and again in a college holocaust class, just for the message. AWESOME read for kids that age.

Author is Ruth Minsky Sender.

She's local - currently lives in Commack. I have the book on my desk right now!
