I have 2 favorite trips - one was our honeymoon to Grand Cayman and the Disney. We had such a great time!My second was my surprise trip to Las Vegas for my 30th Birthday. My DH planned the whole thing without me knowing and then had friends fly out to meet us there as a double surprise. It was totally awesome!

Re: Spinoff to Jenn's post. What is the best vacation you have ever taken?
Hawaii by far. Not just b/c it was our honeymoon. It's that we were really able to explore the islands and connect with them. I left Maui and Kauai really feeling like I knew the islands. It was the most beautiful place I've ever visited, and I've been to so many caribbean islands.Israel is a close second for me. It's so hard to compare my trip to Israel to anything else though, b/c I was there for a month, with a group of college students from around the country. Again, I really got to connect with the country, but it was a pretty challenging trip at times. We did a lot of hiking, which is not my forte. We went rappelling and I jumped off a 25 foot high cliff into water!! I learned a lot about myself on that trip. Israel is an amazing country b/c although it's only the size of New Jersey, there is lush greenery up north, and deserts in the south. There are urban and rural areas, and so much culture!
Hawaii was my best vacation, but Israel is probably my favorite place in the world, since it is part of my heritage.

hey, I'm getting married there!!!

I loved Bermuda. It was warm, there was no rain, and the beaches were more incredible than any I've ever seen - and I've been throughout the caribbean.

Re: Spinoff to Jenn's post. What is the best vacation you have ever taken?
I have taken some truly amazing trips - I was fortunate that I did a lot of extensive traveling throughout my 20s and early 30s. The funny part is that I'd never even been on a plane until I was close to 20 years old (my mom doesn't fly and growing up we went on short little Jersey shore/upstate NY vacations) so I was trying to make up for lost time
I haven't really travelled a lot with my husband (except for short little trips) -- but of course our honeymoon (caribeean cruise ) was outstanding

But if I had to pick the BEST trip I ever took, it would be my trip to Greece with my girlfriends when I was 21. It was my first trip outside of the U.S. (except for islands) and it made such an impression on me.
We went to Athens for a few days, and then took a cruise of the Greek Islands -- which was breathtaking. I absolutely fell in love with that country on a whole. The people were incredibly warm and gracious, the histrory was inspiring, the country itself just gorgeous - its hard to put into words, but everthing about that trip was just so memorable and significant on so many levels. I remember truly feeling like an 'adult' when I was there.
A cute sidenote to this story: when I was in Greece, for whatever reason ALL the natives thought I was Greek (I am Italian). They would come up to me and talk in Greek and would not believe I wasn't a native until I would plead ignornace. The funniest part of the trip was that every morning while in Athens, we went to the same little cafe for breakfast - and every morning , the same man in a group of Greek men at the next table would try to pick me up (heck we were young, cute, single 20somethings
) He was charming and we would flirt, but that was all. So finally after rebuffing his advance countless times, the sweet older woman who owned the cafe came up to me , and said point blank 'the Greek men obviously like you -- and maybe you are too young to settle down now, but one day you are going to meet a Greek man and marry him ' I dont think I believed her for a second, but it always made me chuckle .. over the years when I was having dating woes, my friends would say 'but Felicia you are going to marry a GREEK man - what are you wasting you time with these other clowns?'
And heck it did take awhile, but 12 years later I DID meet my Greek husband
I should send that sweet little woman a card to thank her

Awww, Felicia, As I was reading about your trip to greece, I thought that's so funny that you actually ended it up with a greek man. How sweet the lady was.

Re: Spinoff to Jenn's post. What is the best vacation you have ever taken?
I haven't been on too many vacations, but they were all great. In March/April 1999 I went to Barcelona with my girlfriends, SUCH a great time. It was so great to be 17 and basically unsupervised...

In January 2003 FH took me to WDW for the FIRST time..it was so amazing. I basically cried tears of joy for the ENTIRE trip.
In January 2004, our second trip to WDW, FH PROPOSED
, so what's better than that?In June 2004, we took a longer vacation and had a BLAST in Ft. Lauderdale before heading to WDW for 6 days. And it was so great, because we caught a Star Wars Weekend and the Flower and garden Show
So they were all great.
We were looking forward to out May WDW vacation for the Happiest Celebration on earth, star wars weekends, and flower and garden show, but it's not to be... Maybe January!...we'll see the marathon...ooh or maybe we'll go for NYE!

I know this will sound super lame to alot of people but it was our 1st trip dating to Maine. It was the fall and it had all the entrappings of the autumn season going on; roadside stands with cider and pumpkins, colorful leaves. We stayed at a Days Inn or something of the like and it was just so thoughroughly relaxing. We did our 1st Haunted Hayride (which was the best ever) and ate out and chilled in the heated pool/jacuzzi while leaves fell on top of the atrium. It was awesome.Welcome New Vendors
