They must have gotten this story from Dr. Phil! When I was home sick a couple of weeks ago I put it on and they were doing a story on this woman who said her husband ruined their wedding by showing up drunk! THey showed the video of him getting down on his knee at the altar. I would be mortified! But probably would still go through with it. It is 2 years later and the woman still gets really upset about it, esp since he looks like a drunken slob in all of their pictures and he PASSED OUT after the ceremony and missed the entire reception! UGH!!

Yes they did! they mentioned Dr. Phil...omg he passed out and missed the reception!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG i don't know what i would do really...i would lose my mind!

its kind of funny - what kind of person does this? i mean seriously? how does that happen? i mean im all for having a drink or two beforehand to relax but i would never be that bombed for my wedding ceremony!!

i already told FH no jack and cokes the day of the wedding b/c the smell reminds me of my uncle and gradfather - like a stinky drunk old man and whenever we go out and he drinks that i never want to kiss him hahahahaha so i made him promise no jack and coke

it would be an embarassment and I really would want fh to remember the most important day of his life with that being said I don't think he would get bombed- god I hope not j/k

THANK GOD we are getting married at 1pm and taking pics at 10. I am more worried about him getting there on time (he is a very heavy sleeper ... ). He won't have to time to get up AND drink.

But he might still be hung over / drunk from the night before. This gives me a stomach ache when I think about it, so it's something we will talk about it for the next 7 months ... to NOT GO CRAZY the night before.

I would be fuming!!! But I would still marry him. He'd hear it from me later on. I've told him that I dont want him drinking that much the entire day. I dont want sloppy loving on my wedding night

I didn't hear it but my co-worker call me first thing when she got in and told me about it. She said she hoped my FH didn;t come to church drunk or stoned...lol

Thank god FH does not drink. If he does its a beer or a dacquiri, nothing crazy.
I just dont him to have 'peer pressure'. I'm sure he'll have a beer before to calm himself.

I'd still go on with it and make him pay for it for a lonnnnnnnnnnng time!

I think sometimes the groom might just be really nervous. It happened to my friend at her wedding. The entire wedding party was doing shots and drinking champagne before the ceremony and we think the groom had a little too much and was all red faced. He did stammer at one point during the vows, but it was humorous. Its an inside joke with us nowadays, but seriously I won't sweat it too much, unless he was too hammered to even walk out. I would encourage him to sober up and try not to let it ruin the rest of the day.

Heres the thing. FH gets really affectionate and will start professing his love to me all over the place when he has one too many jack and cokes (mind you hes 300lbs and 6'7' so it takes ALOT) So it could go either way...

However....

If he showed such a lack of regard and respect to me and our wedding day to get bombed (a few drinks is ok...im sure ill have 2 glasses of champagne before...welll 1....lol i cant pack it away....) then I couldnt marry him. Its just plain disrespect.

That is how I feel as well...i am pretty laid back and enjoy my cocktails as well! But on that day, after all the stress and planning and then to have it ruind for lack of self control..i would be so upset.
