I have to second the Hamlet Wind Watch (Hauppauge)...great for the price and private...very cosy for a smaller wedding.

check out giorgios in baiting hollow this was my #1 choice but it was to far out for me.i hope it isnt for you!!!!

I agree Giorgio's is great. It's beautiful, great food and top notch service. It's about 5 minutes from Eastwinds, so it's not as far as people think!

Re: Suffolk reception location suggestions- Please!

I am also looking for a hall in Suffolk. Ideally in the St. James or Huntington areas. We have over 70% of our guests from OOT, so a nearby hotel is important. Suggestions?

We've booked the West Sayville Country Club...we love it because the dance floor is separate from the dining area and it's all glass. Plus one wedding at a time!!!
Steve, the catering manager, is a doll!!!!

The Meadow Club is in Port Jefferson which is near St. James, and there are hotels nearby that wil run a shuttle to/from the hall.

Two that haven't been mentioned which I love are Old Field Club and Nissequogue CC in St. James. I don't know if Nissequogue is private though, but it's gorgeous.

Re: Suffolk reception location suggestions- Please!

It depends how much you're looking to spend, how many people, what kind of atmosphere, etc...

I'm getting married at captain bill's bayview house in bay shore on the water. great food, large ballroom with chandeliers and large windows , light airy atmosphere, fire place and large bar.

You are the only wedding going on, and in fact even on the saturday you're the ONLY wedding ALL DAY! that gives you wonderful flexibility on time, setting up, etc...anything you want. here is a pic of the ballroom...hopefully they attach correctly.
