I am using Doug.....
By the way, I had just asked him about e pics the other day and he said
' Engagement portraits can be done whenever you like' just make an appointment so they know to expect you...

To all the girls who had their e pics done, i thought the proofs were digital...did you pay to have all the proofs made into hardcopies before purchasing what you wanted??? about how many e pics did you have taken?

Sorry to hear about Steve... thats the first time i saw anything negative about him. Try taklking to them maybe you can do a re-shoot and have some poses in mind before hand??? I dont know , but give Doug a call he's a sweethart...

they take the pics with the camera, then they show them to you on the computer on a slideshow thing, its nice cause you can walk out with a computer printed photo that day, and they cost less than regular printing, but i belive you can have them do it regular printing way.

Thanks million04. That's actually what I did yesterday after I wrote my post. I called and spoke to Doug, and he said first of all, there was no excuse for the pictures being sent to the wrong address or not having the B&Ws printed. Secondly, the engagement pictures are the first time the photographer gets to see how you and your FH photograph. So don't expect the pictures to come out perfect like they will on the wedding day.

Then, before the wedding, Doug sits down with Steve (or whoever is your photographer) and goes over the engagement pictures and talks about how he should shoot the wedding.

Doug said if me and FH want to come back in and do the engagement pictures over he'll let us do that. I feel much better now!!!

And Jantany, prices for Patken can vary a lot since the don't sell 'packages'. You start out by picking the number of pictures you think you'll want so they can give you a quote, and then when you get your proofs back you decide how many you really want.
So call them and make an appointment! It'll be worth it.

Jantany: they dont have 'packages' but they do customize a package for you. You just tell them what you want and they'll work with you. They'll also negotiate. They are so wonderful. We sat with Doug and Vinny and had the best time. We talked about photo's, motorcycles, weddings, places to live, and the time just flew by.
