WOO HOOO! You will be close to me! Come live in Orange Country with me! One of my very very very dear friends is a real estate agent, if you ever need one I can recoommend him. If not, I would be happy to let you know about some different neighborhoods.

we're starting the whole process now with basically Researching the area... and where the jobs are. our biggest concern was definately the hurricanes, but you take chances no matter where you are. theres just so many things on the island that we're sick of- the cold; the prices; the congestion. I just dont want to make a quick decision though w/o doing all of the research first. The one thing i worry about it is jobs... and i wouldnt move without them lined up.. but i dont worry so much about the difference in salaries b/c honestly, DH and i make good money combined, and where's it getting us on LI?! So i'd rather look now than when one of us has soooo much time already invested in retirement. Have you noticed a huge gap in salary ranges down there or job availibility?

I am so excited, ask me all the questions you want! What fields do you guys work in? Perhaps I know someone that could help out.
I think if you were thinking of moving to Miami, St. Pete, any place right on the shore would be more a of a hurricane risk but I think you are AOK in Orlando! The salaries are different, but the cost of living is SOO Much cheaper. Honestly, it's wonderful here!

I would appreciate the name of your friend... I don't know anything, and I think, FH and I are moving closer to the idea of moving down there.... Do you know anything about the schools or the community... ??? How about the police in your area??? I'm a cop, that's why I ask...
