I feel like their whole relationship is a slight to people who truely are in love. I find them to be so offensive.

I knew it was only a matter of time, it had been rumored for awhile!! In their case I don't think it's gonna work cause they're celebrities and it's hard enough to have a relationship in the public eye w/out the odds stacked against you.

But honestly, my FI and I had only been dating 4 months when he proposed and he's 16 years older than me. Not that I want to compare us to them, but I just want to say that it's possible!!! We really ARE in love, and neither of us have major motion pictures coming out any time soon!!

I'm all for true love. I am in a similar situation, FH is older, it happened fairly quick for us too(not as quick as them though).

However, the whole thing still seems odd to me......

I agree that the whole thing is staged. I heard that the relationship was 'arranged' by the church of Scientology. Since neither of them can come up w/ a story of how they met, I have to believe it.

The whole 'how they met' thing seems so bizarre...when the news first leaked (at the premiere of his movie, no less) that they were together it was reported that he was casting for Mission Impossible 3 and called her in (sorry, but that just seems very gross Hollywood sleazeball producer to me) and they had like an 8 hour meeting. When she left her car had been cleaned and they 'immediately' started dating. Then all the reports started coming out that she 'dreamt of marrying Tom Cruise' when she was a little girl (hey, I wanted to marry Rick Schroeder from Silver Spoons myself!

).
But the strangest part is the fact that she got so caught up in the hype...she is supposedly a virgin and was a strict Christian - her and her fi Chris Klein (think how awful HE must feel, they were together for like 4 years!) were said to be saving themselves for each other...then this? She's 'digging' Scientology all of a sudden (something that none of Tom's exes did...not Nicole, not Penelope, not Sofia) and seems to have no problem with converting and no desire, like the poster above said, for any privacy. That and the fact that TWO HUGE summer blockbusters are coming out in which they both star in - hmm...do I smell a

? I don't know...

Tom Cruise is a gay as the day is long- this is such a crock of hooey!!!!
