Ok, since I haven't insured me ring yet, would you mind FMing me with the Insurance Companies name because I definately won't be using them. Holy Cow!!!!!!!!

unfortunately this isnt the first time i;ve heard a story like this...a girl i worked with had her ring and stolen and was treated very poorly by statefarm...took her forever to get the money back to get a new ring...so sorry

that is just one of the most horrible stories i've ever heard!! and it worries me to no end because my ring is a family heirloom, so FH didn't have to pay for anything, other than to build up the setting, get it re-sized and pay for the insurance on it. if they ask us to provide receipts, we're screwed. the ring is over 60 yrs old and chances are there never WAS a receipt.

i really, really hope everything works out for you guys though. it's just terrible what they're putting you through!

For this reason hav eit appraised, plotted out and have pictures taken of it

luckily we have all of that!

That is just disgusting that they are publicly humiliating you like that. I would personally call your congressman and make a stink...also, call the NY TImes and other newspapers...fight fire with fire...

I wonder if you can get a sworn statement as to the fraud they tried to commit, and use it against them. Also, please don't give up...they cannot be allowed to win!

WOW! I am comp[letely baffled by this!!!!!!! What a bunch of mercenaries!!!!! I would call one of the news channel, help me howard or someone else to help you with this! Your story is unbelievable, it definetly needs to be told. Good luck sweetie!

wow, I understand going through a lot to put in a claim to receive a new ring because I'm sure they've seen a lot of insurance fraud. However, the attitude and the questioning in the 'hot seat' does seem uncalled for. Now I have to find out where my ring is insured and make sure it is NOT metlife. I'm sorry you're going through this

Unfortunately, according to my lawyer, they are within their legal rights to investigate until they are satisfied. They are just going to keep digging & digging. Once they can't prove any wrongdoing, they'll have to pay the claim. If they refused, we are going to have to go to trial.

What stinks too is that we have to pay the attorney, ya know?

That's just awful. I'm so sorry that you have to go through ANOTHER tramautic experience on top of what I can only imagine is so upsetting.

I cannot believe that an insurance company would do this. And, I can only imagine what it is costing them to do this much research? I can't help but wonder if it's just easier to pay the claim as opposed to paying all of these people to do all of the things they are doing to prove they shouldn't pay it.
