Videography comments - The Wedding Center
Hi all,
I went to the Wedding Center last night and was wondering if anyone had any experiences (good or bad) regarding their videography. I got their literature and they have a $799 COMPLETE special. It just seemed too good to be true. It's the latest 3-chip digital cameras, baby pictures, recap, honeymoon pictures, animation, wireless mics, etc.
Any comments from those who have used them?

Which wedding center? Commack, East Meadow, Baldwin?
I have the information at home so I'll post it over the weekend. Since we're having 2 officiants, each one has a fee. If I remember correctly, they each charge about $500. No extras for travelling etc.

Be careful with the Wedding Center. Don't know which one, but there was a girl on here a few months back who hired a photorgrapher from them and he disappeared with her PICTURES. She never got them and the owners changed hands. They knew nothing about it.
Good Luck!

On videos: Two of my firneds used and recommend Top Hat Entertainment in Ronkonkoma. They have the basic wedding video (includes some pictures and editing on-site) for $750 and then the "deluxe" version for $1200. I will probably use them on my friends' recommendations. I don't have personal experience yet except phone conversatins in which they were nice and friendly and organized so far.
We are looking to get married in the fall of 2000. We don't want to have the reception in a typical catering hall. If anyone knows of a place that is unique, please let me know.
I'm sorry to hear that you are blue, honey but I have one thing to add: PRAY, and this too shall pass....

I don't understand why Video is so much money!!! $1,200 bucks for a video. That's absurd. Like I said, I got my photography and video for $3200 total. I've seen his work and video. It blows my mind to see these prices they want to charge. If your limited, go to a local High School or College and contact the department for Audio/visual and hire a student in their 2nd year or something. They will probably do a great job and any money would be appreciated by them. Same for music at a ceremonly. Contact the music department and hire 3 kids to do a couple of songs on violin at the reception instead of paying 900 - 1200 for them too.

i used video tape productions in stonybrook. the owner is brian and he runs the business out of his house. my video is wonderful. he included 30 pictures and any music i wanted. he came to my house before the wedding to film me with my bridedmaids too at no additional charge! i thought for all he offered his price was reasonable. i highly reccommend him!
I think the wedding song list on the Home page is great! I'm curious, too, as to what other couples have chosen and why. Please share!!!
We're probably going to have Frank Sinatra's SUMMER WIND as our first dance song. He's a big Sinatra fan, and we met at a summer camp nine years ago and only saw each other during the summers the first five year (as friends)...awwwwwe...how pukey :-)
