Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
I am totally wearing it at the reception! Cathedral length veil will come off after Mass and pictures... but the waist length one i am wearing all night! It's so elegant and completes the look, IMO.

Can't - physically impossible for me!Veil is just as long as the dress (btw a chapel and cathedral length) with lace edge.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
wait a sec. Now I am thinking... For all of your pictures before the ceremony, do you wear your veil?

I would definitely have the veil on for any pictures before the ceremony. As for the reception, mine's coming off. I don't need anything else to lug around. Between the weight of the dress and the tiara, I'll be breaking a sweat. LOL!!

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
Sorry about popping in but....I think it's a preference. I wore mine for the first dance and for about 1 hour into. I was comfortable with it and I didn't want to ruin my hair. So I ended up having my MOH helping me.

I want to wear mine during the reception, but if it starts to get annoying I won't hesitate to take it off.

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
i've never seen a bride wear her veil at the reception but if you want to... go for it.However, i've heard many ladies complain that people end up stepping all over it if it's long and i know that my FSIL was so hot... that she didn't want to be bothered with it. It might also be hard to have it on when dancing. What if it gets caught on something or someone (a persons watch, etc).

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
I saw it done over thanksgiving weekend and there is definitely a reason I've only seen it once! The bride looked so awkward while trying to maneuver the dress & veil! I'm sure the pictures will be very nice but she always looked like she was so uncomfortable.

Most of the time I see brides leave it on for the reception, and that's what I plan on doing. I don't think I've ever seen a bride take it off!
I think of my grandma bc of this topic, she says it's the veil that makes the bride, otherwise you're just a girl in a white dress.![]()

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
I'm going to wear my veil for my first dance (I, well my mom, paid way too much $$ for me to only wear it for 2 hours). After that, it's off and I'm going natural...well as natural as an up-do can get!

Re: Wearing your veil at the Reception??
I wore mine through about 1/2 the reception. I wasn't planning to take it off at all but after dancing quite a bit I got hot and it was bugging me. so my BM helped me take it off.

Mine is elbow length so it should be easy to wear...I will probably wear it until we have the main course.
