All the dresses that I have seen are so expensive. I really have my heart set on wearing a strapless, silk, beaded ballgown. After a while when I hear numbers like $4, $5 and $6,000, suddenly $2,000 doesn't sound so bad, but after tax and alterations that becomes $3,000, which seems like so much. How much is everyone spending on their wedding dress (if you don't mind me asking?) Any advice on where to shop? BTW my wedding is in less than 5 months.

I went to David's Bridal and bought my dress there during their $50 off sale and got mine for about $350, but their dresses are reasonably inexpensive too and they have a large assortment of prices and styles.

I found the dress I loved in a bridal salon in Florida where my parents are and it was $600 i went to Bridesave.com and got it shipped for under $400 they have lots of designers and styles and i was comfortable ordering it from there because they are an actual bridal salon out of texas. My dress was perfect when it came in and the price was definatly right!

I found my dress at RK Bridal--I agree it totally isn't a frilly dress shop. I first went to all these salons and boutiques around Manhasset, Great Neck--and the prices were around $5k and i was not wiling to spend that much since i'm changing into a very expensive outfit during reception. So i would wear hte dress only for the church ceremony nd half of my reception.

My dress was an Allure Couture, and it was about 1300 with alterations. The selection was also great. I just recently got my dress last month--and my wedding is like 2 weeks before yours. You are cutting it close but it can be done if you go to a bigger store rather than salon. Try also kleinfeld's in BK.

I bought my Demetrios at Macy's in the smithhaven mall. I believe they are having a demetrios designer sale this week...15% off. I bought mine during the last trunk sale...for 850.00.

If you want a silk dress it will be hard to find one not over a thousand unless you are lucky enough to find a sample or a discontinued dress.
I think the Bridal Garden in the city has couture dresses that are samples for good prices. Like the other brides suggested, definitely check out bride power.com. and netbride.com.They have lots of great prices. I think Marisa, Moonlight couture and Watters and Watters are two bridal gown designers that make silk dresses that might have what you are looking for in your price range. Keep looking you will find the dress you are looking for.

that dress is beautiful, i spent after tax and all the crap that goes under(not bra and unddies) but with my 2 veils$2300, Bridal suite of bayshore they are so helpful. and i love my dress it is well worth it... i hope!!

I got mine at David's Bridal for $750!!!

I cheated today and visited RK Bridal in NYC. It's pretty big and can get kind of crazy in there. They don't take appoinments so when you go there you 'sign in'. But they have TONS of dresses and you can buy off the rack for VERY cheap.

I definitely think it's worth going there. The ladies are super sweet.
