Wedding Obsessions??

I'm finding myself increasingly more consumed with all the details of my wedding. I have a pretty intensive job and am very dedicated to my career...and yet I would rather spend my days gazing through magazines for the perfect bouquet than read my work! How horrible!

Although I have an understanding boss, I'd really like to snap out of it. Am I the only one like this??? Any advice???

Thanks, Lisa

Wedding Obsessions??

Hi Karen. I hear you!! I have such a feeling of being totally consumed and overwhelmed (trying to plan this all in 8 months). My boss as well is very supportive and offsite which helps. What I have been doing is pacing myself. I will do a couple of hours of work and when it is my break time I will do some wedding stuff. I have to admit thought. Once you get the major stuff out of the way it gets better. I have the hall, church, photo and dj booked (all within 2 weeks) I feel like I am beginning to calm down a little. I made a list of everything I need to do down to how many tip envelopes to write out. At first it is overwhelming but once you start crossing items off of the list it is such a relief. Everyone is saying you are suppose to enjoy this time take a deep breath and strive to cross something off of the list and believe me you feel alot better. Keep in touch even if you want to email me privately to vent. Let me know where you are at in plans etc and we can trade stories. Take care and take a deep breath.

Although I have an understanding boss, I'd really like to snap out of it. Am I the only one like this??? Any advice???

Thanks, Lisa

Wedding Obsessions??

I did most of the big stuff months ago - now I'm 6 weeks away and obsessing over a whole new round of items - songs to play at the wedding, the program, the songs & readings for the church, bubbles v. bird seeds, lists of photos for the photographer, gift baskets for out of town guests, finalzing the menu, cake details, rehersal dinner locations.....and the list never ends!

I'm comforted to know that I'm not the only one who is distracted at work. I feel guilty even typing this knowing another day has passed and I haven't given my all...but its like a drug! : )

I may take you up on your email offer! Thanks!!!
