I have to be completely honest.....

I'd probably be fired from work if i was new to this job. And that's why I waited till after the wedding to find a new one. I am not frazzled, but as you can see I am online a lot, I'm doing my programs as we speak, etc. etc. etc. I can kinda understand what they are saying.

But if you are looking for a new job, I'd just mention once you were offered a position that you will need vacation time for your wedding.

i also completely agree with this... so many of us are on here during the day....even me whos already married - LOL-and we all know the different situations that come up when planning a wedding- theres A LOT to think about, and plan... and work really isn't your number 1 priority while you're planning a weddng...its what we call ' bride brain'
so i can sort of see where shes coming from... doesn't make it right that she tells other people that,, but i can definitely see where shes coming from.

It's not right what she said, but it happens. Be upfront about your status if asked. You may not get the question. Try not to project what will happen.

I would wear the ring. Show your integrity and be honest if asked about time off. Let them know that you would be happy to make the hours up or fill in for others afterwards.

This shows you are really interested in the position and about work in general.

Integrity and honestly can get you the job sometimes.

Ok, that's totally illegal. If you had proof that you were discriminated against because of your marital status, you could easily have a lawsuit.

when i was student teaching a few years ago the professors told us a story about a girls that was engaged and her cooperating teacher gave her poor write-ups saying that she was too focused on her wedding planning rather than student teaching. I didn't know this girl so I can't say if its true or not, but that stinks. The professors told us o keep our personal lives personal so they can't be used against us. Sad but true.

You know what, I don't like to hide the fact that I'm getting married. If someone doesn't want to hire me becuase they feel that my personal life will interfere with my work life, then I don't want to work there. People stink!

I can't bring myself to call this women, the only reason I should is b/c she has worked with other coworkers that I know who referred me.

But i can't be dishonest with her its just not my style and i don't want to crack b/c i'm trying to be something i'm not... hmmm my FI thinks I should just go along with it unitl she finds out, but to me not telling the truth is the same as lying...
