Re: weight loss tips and diets
i've been on a diet since feb 25 so just over 8 months. i'm down 55 lbs.exercise is great YES but i tell everyone, it's 90% changing your diet.
if you're still eating junk there's no way you can exercise enough to burn it off.
try to just go walk 30 minutes a couple times a week and then build from there.
as far as diet -- i count calories. i started out at 1500 calories per day and worked down to 1200 calories where i'm at now.
and i can't give props to OATMEAL enough. it's really a superfood i think. if you watch dr. oz -- he brings back people who have lost a bunch of weight and has them tell people 'how they did it'. every single one will say they eat oatmeal frequently. its low calorie, high fiber and great for bringing down cholesterol.
i have at least two bowls a day. one for breakfast and then i often have it as an evening snack. i have the plain quick oats, i prepare it with water and then will add a little bit of skim milk and splenda. mm. delish.
FM if you want to chat about diet stuff. i'm going for 5 more lbs by xmas.

Running helps for me. It allows me to not be severely strict and eat out of the 'norm' every once in a while, while maintaining my weight

fat smash diet!
its the best!
I was just talking about Fat Smash on the other post...what kind of success did you have? I only did the detox for 6 days and I then fell off the wagon (birthday and get togethers at work), but I want to start up again. I think it is a plan that I can realistically stick to if I put my mind to it.
One thing I did notice..I wasnt hungry cause the amount of food was filing...I just craved the sweets.

Re: weight loss tips and diets
I have lost 25lbs in 2 months and I go to the gym 4 days a week. For breakfast I have a bowl of cereal with a banana. For lunch a piece of chicken or broccoli. Sometimes I even have cereal for lunch. For dinner I usually have a pice of chicken, veggies, and a small red potato. This meal plan for me has worked out pretty well.

Re: weight loss tips and diets
WW is great! Ive lost 30 lbs in 3 months and still counting. It really is all about a lifestyle change not just dieting.ugh i hate the word diet lol one thing i will say is that ww is not a quick fix, it's a process and lifestyle change.for those who said they cant get past the first few days u just need to stay motivated and envision ur goal. post pics around the fridge of ur goal (ei. wedding gown, bathing suit, etc)
good luck girlies!!!

Re: weight loss tips and diets
I'm an avid runner, but, to be honest with you, I believe healthy eating is most of the weight loss battle (and the hardest part for me)!I've run 3 marathons in the past 2 years, and am training for my 4th right now. I run 5x/wk and lift weights 2x. However, I didn't lose any weight until I changed my eating habits.
When I was trying to lose weight, I tried to stick to 1,300 cals, adding fruits and vegs, limiting my red meat, and cutting out refined carbs and dessert, and immediately saw results.
When I wasn't trying to lose weight, I tried to stick to 1,800 cals.
Here's a diet vs exercise article:

Re: weight loss tips and diets
I can't tell you how much Bikram yoga changed my life! Also strictly watching sodium intake is huge. We don't realize how much sodium is in just a teaspoon of ketchup! No soda, even diet. All the chemicals and carbonation in soda are not good for your GI tract, and just your general overall health. TONS of water. The first thing I do when I wake up is drink a 16oz glass of mineral water. Throughout the day i drink at least 64oz of water each day. If you are trying to detox you should drink 100oz. Not more than that, because it can be too much. The water is huge for removing toxins from your body and your cells even! I eat a lot of high fiber foods, oatmeal like the other ladies said is great. But it can't be the flavored ones because they have soo much sugar. It has to be the plain oatmeal made with water or skim milk, then add Splenda or your favorite sweetener. I use honey in moderation once I have reached my goal weight, because I try to avoid eating a ton of artificial sweeteners. They say it's not good for you. I must have my one skim latte a day (made at home!) and I put 4 Splenda in that! I try not to eat much more than that each day. Another biggie is absolutely no white bread, or other bleached flours. Whole grain breads with no high fructose corn syrup are what you should be looking for. No cookies or chips or junk food. However if you have lost the bulk of your weight and you want to treat yourself, the 100 cal Cheetos/Doritos and Cookie packs are great treats that aren't too guilty.Good luck!!!

Re: weight loss tips and diets
While just a quick fix and not a permanent healthy alternative, Isagenix 11 day cleanse diet worked wonders for me. I was able to take all the weight off prior to my wedding bc it gave me a great jump start (I did it 3 times). I have been able to maintain by watching what I eat and going to the gym. I plan to do it again after the holidays.
