I am sorry that you are having to go through this at all, but at least it was found at an early stage.

Awful, awful news. You are being so strong and its better to know and to be able to treat it than not to. What courage and strength you have to face this...you'll be in my prayers to stay strong in this battle. I know all of us hope we hear the news it has been 100% removed and you are in complete remission so very soon.

I had Cervical Cancer a few years back, I know how hard it is to understand the #'s and percentages and what it all really means to you. It can be very scary, so I understand and wish you all the best!!!!

I had my biopsy secretly last week (didn't want to tell anyone I was having it until I had the results). My left breast biopsy came back positive for cancerous cells.

*sigh*

So that means at age 29, I will now be fighting a second battle against cancer (before is was ovarian). But it seems extremely early and the doctor thinks surgery will remove it and I shouldn't have to go through chemo. (I refuse to do it.) So, that is good. I do not know when I will have the surgery. Probably mid December.

I am torn about how to feel. I am more concerned about my issues with FH right now, so maybe it's good that I concentrate on that.

EDIT: I am not going to make a big deal about it. I am not scared, most likely because I have been here before and I know the drill. I just wanted to tell someone. I don't want to be known as the cancer girl or anything.

However, I do wish I knew where this was coming from. No one in my family, for the past 4 generations, has ever had cancer. My original docter states that I could be prone to cancer because my mother smoked while she was pregnant with me. I wish I could find a way to prevent it.

FMIL just battled her third round of cancer. First was throat, then mouth and then lung cancer, and she is a little, tiny, frail woman, but MAN is she strong! So I know you will battle this and come out stronger as well. You will be in my thoughts and prayers

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear that. We just went through the whole biopsy scare with my mom, but her's came back negative.

I don't know exactly where you live, but she RAVED about the doctors and the care she received at the Carol Baldwin Breast Center, which I is near SUNY Stony Brook. They have state of the art doctors and equipment....
