Your menu sounds really great! Is the Hibachi an extra?

Does anyone know if WM has new direction cards? I will be sending out my invites soon and the cards I have include information about the Fox Hollow Inn. My OOT guess will not be staying there I don't don't want to cause an confusion and I also don't want to put a big X on one side.

Those were the old cards. Once Jerry took over he had new cards...much nicer ones made up, which do not include info regarding the Inn at Fox Hollow...especially since WM is not associated with the other Scotto Brothers facilities anymore.

The cards we were given didn't have anything about Fox Hollow on them. Maybe you can go by and pick up some new cards.

We got the old cards, I did not want to send them out like that so I did my own.

Decorations should be part of the ceremony set-up fee. I don't know exactly what flowers are used but I figured I would discuss that with my BM closer to the day.

You're correct! The flowers/decorations are included in your ceremony fee. The flowers used are used for all the ceremonies that weekend, so you really don't have a choice in flowers, colors, etc. They stick with white, using lilies, etc.
Here's some pics from our outdoor ceremony to help give you an idea....
Don't forget too...if you're also blessed with nice weather and can have the ceremony outside the flowers, etc that are normally planted in the chapel garden with be there too!
If it ends up being an indoor ceremony, you will have all the same beautiful white flower arrangements. Bobby does BEAUTIFUL work!

Beautiful pics! It makes me wish I was having my ceremony there...with my luck it would rain.
Hey WM girls? I have a question? Can anyone suggest a fine restaurant in the area of WM? We are getting married at the Community Church of EW and are looking for a nice place to have our rehearsal dinner (12 people max). We want a nice classy place. Thanks for the help.

Hi I really want to book the Westbury but they are all booked this year for afternoon wedding in Sept/Oct, wonder if I should wait for next year or go look at the Fox Hollow. Any thoughts?

I'm sure you will have many conflicting opinions on this question. I say not to wait yet another year to get married just because your first local is not available. The most important thing is that the two of you get married. There are many beautiful places on Long Island, Connecticut, NY...I'm sure you will find something that you love just as much and has space.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Thanks Beachgirl, I actually took your advice before I even read it. Hehe!Booked WM for Oct 1, 06. But I'm having second thoughts now 'cus I spoke our banquet manager, Mel, and he rushed through the process - not even explaining to me what's the next step. 2nd payment, picking out menus, etc.!
What's everyone's experience with WM's BM like?
Yeah, I didn't wanna wait to get married either although the FH didn't want us to rush. He'll be 36 next year if we wait another year, but I guess age is not much of a concern for guys. I'm younger but would prefer to get the wedding plans over it, can't imagine spending an extra year of being addicted to LIWeddings! Nothing bad, but i'ts hard to concentrate at work or home when you're online constantly! :)

Mel is my BM and I love him! He didn't rush us through anything when we booked in 3/05 - he went through the contract with us, layed out all the specifics, and then my FI and I thought it over and went back the next weekend to book. Maybe he was having an off day? I have nothing but raves for him.

Mel is quick and too the point. he's not really one to linger...he speaks fast and I guess figures the paperwork and the place speaks for itself. If you have any questions about anything, just call. I actually haven't spoken to Mel for anything since that day. any one of the BM's can help you at any time. I actually liked his approach...it helped to clear my mind and focus on what I liked and wanted.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
We also worked with Mel when we booked (well, FI did). FI loved him, had no complaints. They will send you a bill when your next payment is due and contact you when it is time to meet for your menu. Look at your contract-it should state your payment due dates. Don't worry-you are probably just overwhelmed right now.
WM is Awesome!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)
Oh, I agree, Mel is a complete sweetheart. We went to meet with himon the day of the WOTY and there were 5 other couples waiting so although he
tried to hurry us initially 'cus he had so many other couples waiting, he still
took about 20 minutes of his time after the tour to discuss the wedding package
with us. Then he gave us 5 minutes of alone time to talk things over alone before
we told him we weren't ready to book that day. We wanted Friday night but there
weren't any available, so we thought about it one week later called him back yesterday
but he seemed very busy once again - people calling him left and right.
I quickly booked a Sunday afternoon with him - Oct 1st, 2006 - and am expecting a
fax of the contract today. :)
So has anyone had any experience with the officiant at WM? Wondering if I should go with
him.
