Speaking of holidays.... Is anyone going there for Thanksgiving? DH approached me with it today. His entire family went home with the Thanksgiving Menu at our wedding! They said they loved the food sooooo much that they're looking forward to going back for Thanksgiving!

I would say it would depend on what night of the week you're going. Many times we've just 'dropped' in for dinner. I would say for Friday, Saturday night make a reservation.

ur kidding? if Im reading this right, WM didnt pack up any food for you?????????? OMG they packed up so much I literally had like 5 huge aluminum trays filled with food from the cocktail hour, all the pastries and dinner food too, which was ours that we didnt eat b/c we werent that hungry we got the plates with all of the 7 choices so it was a lot of food to eat at once.

I was told that if you want to go, to make a reservation for dinner through your bm. perhaps they do something for you in some way...

We go to do our menu on 11-30, at first I was stressed, but now I am happy-one less thing to do in Jan!

So any stations that were an absolute hit at your wedding or a wedding that you attended???

Any other advice for my meeting? Thanks!

I just wanted to say this:

With all the changes we all were freaking out about (chef, etc) everything turned out for the better!!!

Friends who had eaten at the Westbury Manor before this change weren't crazy about the food.

After this wedding they all said it was 100% better. Their meals were excellent! They loved the new choices and CH was great.

Overall, the change in chef was a HUGE addition!

We got a call yesterday (11-8-05) that it is time for us to go in and talk about the menu.

Isn't 3 months early for this? My wedding is 2-11-06. I guess it doesn't matter, but my weekends are so swamped already with finding an apartment, meeting with other vendors, etc. I just feel like I am not ready to do this yet, I haven't even thought about picking the CH stations yet. Ugh, I need a tums.

Hello Fellow WM Brides...just wanted to give you some feedback that I recevied from a few of my friends that attended a wedding on Sunday I asked them to be 100% honest with me and tell me every little detail that caught their eye, that they liked, that they didn't like (regardless if they thought it would hurt my feelings), what their over all impression ...they both said that everything was beautiful, the valet was fast, the bathrooms were very clean and they never saw a line to get into them (even with a Baptism going on upstairs - which both said did not interfere with the wedding), the CH food was great as was the reception food, they said the chair covers looked really elegant, the waiters were very good (one per table), everytime they got up , they cleaned around their area and folded their napkin, the entree selections were plenty - they both got the shrimp and said it was very fresh and good..., plenty of elbow room at the table (10 people) they said it was a very nice affair...

Now for the few minor issues they had...
They said that the way the CH hour was set up (the reception was in the Manor room) felt like a 'cafeteria' - their words not mine by 'cafeteria' they meant the way the tables were lined up...part of the CH was set up in the smaller room opposite the library...the tables came out from against the wall one after another...they said it didn't feel very intimate...another thing they said was that you def should have some sort of music playing during the CH...the couple chose not to and they both said it was very akward and kinda destroyed the ambiance of it all. One friend said she thought the little cp that WM(I believe) puts out on the tables for CH were nice, my other girlfrend said they were nothing special and that they actually were too small for the table because she barely noticed them. Another thing they said was that the bar tender at the CH disappeared from the bar for awhile and they had to wait to get their drinks...as far as any negatives at the reception they both said that because the room (the Manor Room) is so big...it does need a few tall centerpieces to give it some dimension one of my freinds said that she looked across the room and it didn't really feel like an affair...more like a resturant feel (BUT she also said that their low cp's were not anything special - very simple yet too simple if that makes sense) this disappoints me because I'm not into tall cp's but I've heard this said before about the big room...I guess I'll have to play around with a few ideas until I get something that I like

Overall they both said that it was a beautiful affair, that WM is GORGEOUS and ELEGANT, and defiantely not like your typical 'catering hall'...it has a very romantic and cozy feel

Yes I was concerned as well esp after reading the same post thats why I made sure that they checked that out for me - i told them to run to the bathroom a few times throughout the duration of the reception and check it out

Regarding the bathroom problem, it really depends on when the affair is. I have been there several times on a friday and sat night and there ARE lines and Im sure TIME of year plays a role in it too, also the Bride NEVER waits. I guess if the wedding is a DAY wedding Im sure there will less traffic than a NIGHT wedding. But you just never know- the night of my wedding- a friday night- there were just 2 affairs and because I had the garden room, library AND the conservatory room for my CH , the other wedding didnt start till 9 pm. So I got very lucky that the majority of the place were my family and friends until the restaurant opened and the other party that started at 9pm. WE got there at 630. I had an 1 1/2 CH hour. I didnt have music and no one said anything PLUS I have a DVD taken by family during the CH and there was so much noise in the background I dont think music would have made a difference.
I agree valet is fast, the food has always been great there- so I dont know what peacock is talking about, but the new chef is great!!!
I agree for the Manor Room you DEF need TALL CP the room is huge. We peeked in on a wedding the night in may we went to the fireman dinner and they had low CP and the room looked empty, no visual at all. As far as the CP for the CH who really cares. They are very clean, the waiters/waitresses per table are awesome, the bartenders are really good too. I had NO complaints what so ever the night of my wedding. the only complaint I had was 2 weeks later when we went to that dinner in the garden room and the bathroom line was WAY out of control. Hopefully it was just an off night.
I wouldnt be worried, women are used to lines so its no biggie for the guests Im sure. and for the Bride like I said you NEVER have to wait. you will all love WM!!!

There was tons of traffic...My wedding at 11am, another at 11:30 and one at noon... It was crazy, but luckily no lines TG!
You know what it might be...not so much the traffic, but maybe people are drinking less in the daytime...so...well...you know!


Totally agree about high CPs in the Manor Room! I ALWAYS think of the pic of your room that you posted on here.
Garden Room...long & low is the way to go.
