My invitation had a smimmery brown edge and was printed on ecru (sp?) paper..>I used brown ink and brown ink for the envelopes...

My invitation is cream with a gold monogram at the top, so all our wording is in gold ink. The calligraphy on the envelopes is gold too.

My invitation is white. I picked gold ink.

The invitations I'm planning on using are white with purple lettering so I'm gonna have the calligrapher use purple ink.

We did black. Although our colors are Sage and pink, the sage looked way too light, so I didn't like it, nor did I want people straining their eyes to read it.

Does anyone know where i can buy Gold ink for my printer? Im trying to DIY but its getting harder and harder!

No such thing as metallic ink for a ink jet/ laser jet printer. You would have to go to a prof. print shop and have them ink up a press. You can mix a color to reflect a goldish look by playing around with your printers colors CMYK.

We did navy ink. The pocketfold is yellow, the invite paper is ivory, and it's tied with navy and ivory ribbons. There's all our wedding colors right there. I'm hoping they'll arrive today! Can't wait to see them. I like the idea of navy, as it's dark enough to be subtle, but it still is one of our colors and matches the ribbon.

Same here but with a metalic tone to it.

My wedding color is mango(orange) and I could not see doing my invites in that color. IMO it would make it look to whimsical.

Our invites are ivory and we are doing a claret red ink.

I am using a dark purple to match my colors, it's just an accent on my invites. Oh and gold for the knot. Here's a pic:
