Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

We have a Friday night, but it's the night after Thanksgiving! No one in my family works that day anyway. For those that do work, we have a late start - 5pm church, 8pm CH.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

I didn't go in looking for a Sunday - but it was offered to me and I took it. It's an afternoon wedding which FH preferred as he has a lot of older family coming. But it's a holiday evening - so at least people have Monday to recuperate.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

I always wanted mine on a Friday Night. The price difference was big. I think it is great. Most people have off on Sat and Sun. It works out ok. I looked into Sat and Sun days and Fri was the best price.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

One advantage to a Friday evening is that you can make the whole weekend a wedding weekend or you can get an extra day or two off from work for your honeymoon!

I had a Saturday night, but that would be my second choice.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

We had a Sunday afternoon wedding. I didn't want a Sunday evening wedding b/c I was afraid a lot of people would leave early. I prefer Sunday weddings over Friday weddings. I work long hours during the week and it would be too hectic to try to leave early, get dressed, and rush over to a wedding. With a Friday wedding, people may skip the ceremony in order to have more time to leave work and get ready for the wedding. The ceremony was very important to me, and I'm glad all of my guests were able to attend it.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

I'm probably going to have a Friday or Sunday wedding. Saturday is too far out of my price range. I've been to plenty of Sunday weddings, and I stayed the whole time!

I love Friday night weddings! People are ready to party on friday nights, it starts off the weekend, & people are off Saturday. Some people may miss your ceremony, depending on the time it starts & work schedules.

I always see a lot of people leave Sunday night weddings early b/c of work the next day.

Forgot to quote again This is why we are havign ours on a friday night! Agreed! We felt not everyone comes to the ceremony no matter what day so why not have the party when we want to!

My wedding is on a Sunday.
Labor Day weekend, so most people are off from work.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?

We are having the Sunday before Memorial Day weekend so since everyone is off the next day, its still like a Saturday.

But I'm skeptical about Friday night weddings because some people might not come, or come really late because they would have to take the day off of work to get ready and get out to your hall in time, I've known a few people that did that-or that didn't show.

I suppose if you have a Friday night wedding, have it later in the evening to ensure that people will be there on time and not miss out on the ceremony or the cocktail hour because they had to work until 5pm.
