Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
We just weren't going to be able to afford a Saturday night so we opted for a Friday instead. Our ceremony won't start until 7pm so that will give people plenty of time to get there after work. Plus, we'll have time to go home to DC before our HM.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I am having mine on a Sunday night from 6:30-11:30. I know some people may leave early but the people that are really important to me & FH like our friends and family will stay the entire night. We didnt want to pay the extra $$ for a saturday night. We also felt that for the amount of times we ask people to share such a special day with us (just this once) they would do it regardless of the time or day.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
We're having a Sunday Wedding (to be honest b/c we wanted 11/11/07 to be our date
) we're having an 8 hour elegant gala (including the ime for the ceremony we're starting at either 2 or 3 that will be determined soon.... However some places wil actually charge you more for a Sunday b/c it's twilight & they can't have any other affair then yours
For us Friday night weddings are hard, we almost always miss or are late to the ceremony, just b/c FH's career is sooo demanding, even if he goes in for half a day he's there til 5 or later:
good luck w/ whatever you choose, and it's noce to consider your guest PoV but seriously this is your & FH's day, & those that love you & want to share it witrh you will do everything in their power to do so....

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
We are doing Friday night. I didn't want to do Sunday since everyone would have to work on Monday. Besides as said before Friday is party time. Plus I think I am getting married at the hall so that will help people with getting there. Our reception is from 8-1am.

I am having a Sundy night weding in the summer. It ends at 11:30 - not too awful.I feel like Sundays in the summer aren't as tough on people who have to work the next day.

I prefer Sat night weddings but if it were between a Fri night and a Sunday I would have picked Fri night.

I'm getting married on a Friday night during the summer. My bridal party are mostly teachers so it works for them. I feel bad the other guests may have to take off work - but I would take off to see a family member get married anyday!

I agree with this, in a way - esp bc its summer and alot of the people are teachers.
Family would take off, but some other people might have work.. if it is another time of the year, etc.
So, I guess it depends....
if you want EVERYONE at your ceremony, then have it on a Sunday, if you want it to be more partying at the reception, then Friday night workds.

I'm having a Saturday wedding, but I thnk Sunday weddings are just as great. I just couldn't get married on a sunday, cause I'm getting marriedn during lent and my church wouldn't let me get married on a sunday.

I'm thinking about changing my date to save money and I can save the most money if I have it on Friday or Sunday. So far I'm leaning more towards Friday. I've added a poll to see how many people are doing what day!
We are doing a Saturday Afternoon and it was less expensive than both Friday and Sunday evenings. Definitely something to consider.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
My dream would be to have in on a Saturday night but due to the increase in prices and increased amount of people I need for a minimum requirement for that night we are having a Friday night wedding! We were considering a Sunday but I think Fridays are awesome for the fact that it starts off a weekend and people still have Saturday and Sunday to recover (if they go totally nuts anyways hahahaha!)

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I am having a Saturday night wedding which is what I really wanted. Had the price not been affordable I would have done a Friday night. I think people migh feel a little rushed after work but are ready to party.

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
Remember this...Your wedding is going to be amazing no matter what day you choose. All the people who love you will be there regardless of the day of the week. We have all been told we can't please everybody so try not to stress too hard about it. Do what is best for you and your budget and it will be beautiful regardless.
Good luck!!!!

Re: What does everyone think about Friday and Sunday Weddings?
I think it depends on the type of crowd that you have.... If it's a bigger drinking/party crowd, I would say go with the Friday. If you have a more laid back, non 'drinking focused' crowd, the Sunday night might be a better choice. Personally, I would love to have my wedding on a Saturday night, but it's not an option financially at this point. I have a 'typical Irish' family and friends and felt that the Friday night would be a better options. Good luck deciding!!!
